Diary Entry

Diary Update
January 3rd 2013

Challenges
I read 164 books but my goal was 200.
This year my goal is 200 again and I plan to meet or exceed it.
For 2014 I've got 13ish challenges. So it should be a interesting year.

Reading
Just finished my first book of the year.
Much Ado About Nothing by C.E. Wilson (Review
Not sure what's next yet.

2014 Goals
I'm hoping to keep reading fun with no pressure. I enjoy blogging when it's fun, but when it feels like a chore I get burned out. I'm thrilled with my book plans for the next few months. Lots of books lots of fun. My goal is to start catching up on the huge pile of books I've got.
I'm going to try really hard to be more social and meet new people I am kind of shy.

Wishlist
A Creature of Moonlight
by Rebecca Hahn
(Goodreads)

Synopsis

A stunning debut novel about a girl who is half dragon, half human, and wholly herself.

As the only heir to the throne, Marni should have been surrounded by wealth and privilege, not living in exile-but now the time has come when she must choose between claiming her birthright as princess of a realm whose king wants her dead, and life with the father she has never known: a wild dragon who is sending his magical woods to capture her.

Fans of Bitterblue and Seraphina will be captured by a Creature of Moonlight, with its richly layered storytelling and the powerful choices its strong heroine must make.

This one sounds like it's going to be good. Can't wait.

I pre-ordered this one today.

A Breath of Frost
 by Alyxandra Harvey
(Goodreads

Synopsis

In 1814, three cousins-Gretchen, Emma, and Penelope-discover their unknown family lineage of witchcraft. Beyond the familiar manicured gardens and ballrooms of Regency London, a dangerous, alluring new underworld visible only to those with power is now open to the cousins.
But unbeknownst to them, by claiming their power, the three cousins have inadvertently opened the gates to the Underworld.
Now the dead, ghouls, hellhounds-and the most terrifying of all: the spirits of dark witches known as the Greymalkin Sisters-are hunting and killing young debutante witches for their powers.
And, somehow, Emma is connected to the murders...because she keeps finding the bodies.
Can the cousins unravel the clues and mystery behind their heritage and power before their gifts are stripped away ...or even worse, another witch is killed?

Sounds like it could be good.

Off to read have a great day!
Happy New Year!

  1. 164 books is an amazing feat, even if it was short of your goal. I'm a little shy too, but I've been trying to be miss social butterfly for 2014. Going to go check out your review of Much Ado About Nothing now.
