Dystopia Reading Challenge 2014

Dystopia Reading Challenge 2014
Hosted by Blog of Erised

I'm a addict when it comes to the Dystopia Genre. Last year I read about 15 books. So this year I'm going to start out at

Rules
- The challenge will run from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014. Each month will have its own link form so you will be able to share your book reviews. You do not have to review the books you read to participate, but only those who read/reviewed at least one dystopian book will be able to participate in the giveaway (you can track your reading without the reviews with Goodreads, Shelfari etc.).
- Books that count in this challenge must include any form of post-apocalyptic theme (book sites like Goodreads are good sources of genre information). The books must be full-length.
- All formats allowed.
- Rereads allowed (but not the same book five times in a year!).
- It does not matter whether it's a series or a stand-alone book.
- If you are participating, grab the challenge button from below and post it on you blog. You can also make a post with the header (the code is also below). Please include the link back to this post so others will be able to participate as well.
- If you will participate, put the sign-up link to your blog post (about the challenge) or blog (for the button) directly into the linky below. Sign-ups will be open until December 15, 2014.
- You do not have to list your books in advance, go and do as you please. Read as many as you want and whenever you want, as long as you have fun!
- Info about the giveaway will be available in December 2014.
- Do not cheat with books of other themes/genres/topics because I do check!

Levels
Level 1: Recruit (1 to 6 books)
Level 2: Rebel (7 to 12 books)
Level 3: Revolutionist (13 to 18 books)
Level 4: Leader (19+ books)

I'm going to start with Rebel because I know I can read at least 12 but I'm hoping for more.

Books
1. The One by Kiera Cass (Review)
2. Pawn by Aimee Carter (Review)

Yikes I failed at this one so sad. It's one of my favorite genres. I hope to do better next year.

2014 Goodreads challenges

2014 Goodreads challenges

Series Finish what you start.
One of the groups I'm in on Goodreads has a challenge to finish off/get current on as many series as you can.
I have ton's of series I need to catch up on. My goal is 12 but with potential of more. At least 1 series a month.
January -  Awake at Dawn & Taken at Dusk
February - Scarlet

Dusty Bookshelf is another challenge for the same group on Goodreads.
This one is to help clear off as many books that we've had for a while. I have ton's that I've not read but had on the shelf for years so this is a great challenge.
January - No One's Angel
February - Priceless
April - Night Broken

I missed a sign up for the challenge and they told me sorry your a day late so I opted out for the rest of the year.

2014 Oz Challenge

2014 Oz Challenge
For as long as I can remember I've always wanted to read the OZ series. With the new year and keeping my challenges to a limited I think 2014 would be the perfect year to read them all. The books are short so I'm hoping at least two per month maybe more. I love the movies so I'm hoping to love the series as well.

14 Books in 12 months

Plan was to read them all in the end I didn't read any of them super fail.

2014 Pern Challenge

2014 Pern Challenge

Growing up I read the first three in the Dragonrider series falling in love. I've read the first three over a few times but decided it's time to read them all in chronological order. I've planned to read them many times but haven't been able to get around to it.

25 Books in 12 months

Plan was to read them all in the end I didn't read any of them super fail.

2014 Quick Fix Challenge

2014 Quick Fix Challenge

So about the challenge?
I find that many times when a reading challenge has to do with a book's size it usually about reading bigger books. Sometimes, because I'm in between books, life is getting out of hand, or things are just getting in the way, there's just not enough time to read a big book. Who says bigger is better anyway? Sometimes things break and all you need is a little tape and it'll hold. So this is the "Quick fix Challenge" whether it's a love for smaller books, or just trying to squeeze in a quick read, or maybe times running out and you need to read in some more books quickly. This is a challenge about reading books with less than 300 pages.

Challenge Details:
  • The challenge runs from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.
  • Sign ups will be open until mid December.
  • You don't have to be a blogger to participate. However, leave a comment and tell me what level  you're aiming for.
  • For bloggers, post up a challenge sign up post saying what level you've signed up for. Be sure to sign-up with your sign-up post in the linky.
  • You don't have to review the books you read however if you do, you will be able to post your links to your reviews (the post will be up on New Years day).
  • Books have to have less than 300 pages to count.
  • Books such as MG/YA, graphic novels/manga, audio, rereads, anthologies and short stories, can count toward your goal.
  • Feel free to crossover the books you read for this challenge with other challenges.

Now the Levels/It will hold with:
String: 5 books
Paperclips: 15 books
Duck tape: 25 books
Gorilla glue: 30+ books

Sign up here.

I'm planning to do paperclips.
