Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
This week's question:
Do you prefer Hardcover, Trade Paperback, or Mass Market Paperback? Why?

My Answer:
I love physical books in general. My preferred book format in physical is hardcover just something about a hardcover I love. It doesn't matter the format as long as I can sniff them and turn the pages I'm super happy. Don't get me wrong my kindle is still my buddy but I just love being able to hold a book in my hands. I still add physical and eBooks to my collection on a weekly basis.

This Week's question:
Have you ever stopped reading for a long period of time? If so, how long and why?

My Answer:
The longest that I have gone without reading is max a week. That might could be because the hubby was home on leave or I was sick. I'm always reading and never leave the house without a book. I've never gone more than a week without reading in my entire life.

This week's question:
Do you use your local library? What do you like (or dislike) most about it?

My Answer:
I have access to several library's one here on base and than the county library. The one on base which is a hop skip and jump from my house has a limited selection of books. The county one is great it has several places to pick up books and they can be returned to any of the locations. However with my dogs who have eaten a few books I've stopped getting library books. I think it's the smell of all the other people who have read them. Both have overdrive which I use once in a while and hope to use more.

This Week's question:
Have you ever faked reading a book? If So, What book and why?

My Answer:
I have never faked reading a book. I would feel really bad doing just that. I've read some books in school I really didn't want to and had to do some skimming but I still feel that I have read the book.

This week's question:
Who, in your life, are you best able to share your love of reading with?

My Answer:

This one is tough most of my friends aren't readers but my father is. My parents encouraged my reading at a early age. However my father and I don't read the same books. Thankfully while he may not read as many or fast as I do my husband understand my love of books and reads too. We've even read several of the same books except I never finished the Harry Potter Series.

This Week's question:
When people ask you why you read so much, what is your answer?

My Answer:
I've been reading since I was a child so it's natural for me to read and most people/friends know I'm kind of a book nut. I think most of the people I meet don't find the time to read so it's a little shocking when I tell them how much I love to read. I have a book club here and most of them struggle to read the one book or don't while a few others read several a month. I love getting lost in a new story.

This week's question:
What is your favorite book as a child?

My Answer:
As a little one I loved Runaway Bunny. I used to have my mom read it to me over and over and over. I tried to get my little ones to love it as much as I still do but they aren't into it. Maybe one day even though my youngest is five.  As I got older and started reading myself I enjoyed the Saddle Club since I'm kind of a horse nut. I keep meaning to back and re-read them as well as The Black Stallion series.

This Week's question:
Do you have an author you will read anything they put out?

My Answer:
I have a few of them that I don't even read the synopsis just auto buy and read. Alyssa Rose Ivy, Patricia Briggs, Nikki Jefford, and Nancy Straight. Any one of these wonderful ladies is on my to read list. I know that everything they put out I will enjoy and have no fear buying without looking at the synopsis.

This week's question:
How old were you when you realized that you are an AVID reader?

My Answer:

I've been an avid reader since I was little and first could read. I remember being a little 5 year old going to the library and loading up on books so it's been a whole life obsession. So I would have to say I was 5 years old when my book obsession started. My parents encouraged it every chance they could.

This week's question:
How often do you use your local library? Are you happy with their availability?

My Answer:
I can't use the local library because I have a 120 pound dog & 75 pound puppy that if I don't pay attention will sneak the book and tear it to shreds. I think it's all the other peoples smells that they don't know. The closest library is on base they have more of the current stuff but not so much the older stuff. I do use the library in the county and the base library to read eBooks online but 99% of the time I just buy book off amazon it's easy and fast.

This Week's question:
What book would you recommend to a close-minded person?

My Answer:
I'm not sure how to answer that one because I maybe I'm close-minded when it comes to non-fiction. I love my fiction to much and I've not read a non-fiction since high school. So I guess I would recommend to someone who doesn't enjoy paranormal Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs. I love her series.

This week's question:
Who (or what) influences your reading most?

My Answer:
I'm not really influenced by my reading choices. I choose my books based on cover and synopsis not what people think. I'm open to suggestions but I make my own choices and decisions.

This Week's question:
Have you ever read a book that changed your opinion on a topic?

My Answer:
I only read fiction but I keep saying I should read some of these non-fictions but I never get around to it. If you ask my husband I have a warped sense of romance thanks to all the novel's I've read. (Not in a bad way). I'm a huge fan of happy ever after romance. I've not read a book about a topic that would change my opinion because I am stuck in the fantasy world.
