Happy New Year 2023

Happy New Year!!! 

I hope everyone has had a safe holiday. I know here in Northern California it's been raining for weeks. They suspect we will have a few more weeks of rain but it won't help our drought in the long run. It's scary out there lots of flooding and I hope everyone is staying dry and safe. 

I didn't make it to midnight the munchkin was asleep and it was quiet. I was holding out reading till the new year so I could start my first book of 2023. Now I can't decide which one to read lol.

I'm so ready to say goodbye to 2022 it's been a long year and blogging has been on the back burner a lot. I'm ready for a fresh start with 2023. I've got so many great ideas, challenges, goals and plans to get back to what I love again.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. 

We had a lovely holiday. For Christmas Eve we did a traditional family get together over 40 close family. I made 4 cheesecakes chocolate peppermint, caramel apple, vanilla and lemon. Everyone had a good time. I baked a pair of pumpkin pie's and dutch apples pies on Christmas morning. I also baked a prime rib for the first time. We had my in laws over for the day it was great lots of family time. 

It's been a crazy busy last couple of months with everything and I'm super excited that things can get back to normal. The Christmas holiday always becomes crazy lots to do and lots of shopping. I feel like I shopped till I could drop a few times with my partner in crime. 

Time to get back to blogging, reading and crafty projects.

I hope everyone is having a happy safe Holiday!!!

Today for us should be super nice and quiet. My friend's husband is out of town this week so we teamed up our two households to make dinner. My friend has 4 kids and with my two and husband, it should be a full house. Since we are teaming up we split the meal but we are each making a few of the same dishes. I'm making a sweet potato casserole with a pecan crumble while her's has marshmallows. I'm also making a turkey and she's making a ham. I'm making the elusive Pecan Pie cheesecake that I've been talking about trying for years. 

I'm Thankful for lots of things this year, my health, family, friends, my kids and my wonderful husband. I'm thankful to all the coffee growers who without them I would be missing out on my must-have drink. I'm thankful to all the authors for creating all the amazing books even more than I will ever be able to read. I'm Thankful to all my followers who read my rambles without all of you I would be talking to myself.

I hope everyone is having a happy safe Holiday!!!

I actually had a Top Ten Tuesday of what I'm thankful for and decided to just ninja those for this post because it's such a great list. 

1. My other half - My amazing husband who is my best friend and soulmate. We've been married for 7 going on forever. 

  

2.  Family - My two children Izzy and Corbin they are growing up so fast. I love the support I have from my family they are always supportive even if I take on to much. 

3. My fur babies - Grimm and Khaleesi. I've broken them because I raised them like children. I sometimes wonder if they even know they are dogs. 

4. Books of course - I love books they are amazing and I can't imagine not having all the magical stories in my life. I'm so glad my husband doesn't mind my book hoarding and never getting around to reading them yet. I have so many piles and stacks of books all over the house. I hate to admit I have so many unread. 

5. Coffee - I can't imagine my life without coffee it's my lifeline every morning and through out the day. I don't drink it for the caffeine but the flavor. I've been dabbling with latte art recently, but I've been slacking since we got the Kcup.

I hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful Christmas. Thankfully we are in cold Northern California so no snow. Which is great for me maybe not the rest of the family who wants a white Christmas. Looking forward to the busy holidays to move on so I can start plotting next year. The kids are still shockingly sleeping so it's just the puppies and I for the moment. Thankfully I have a big hot cup of coffee and lots of books to keep me busy. BTW I love my white tree and at the last minute I changed it up turned it into a snow man it's not perfect but I think it's cute!
