Manga Monday

Manga Monday

It's the final week of August already I haven't read nearly as many as I would have hoped. I had a list last week but never got to them eek. So I'm going to try to cram last weeks into this week.

First off my TBR for the week

Sweet little Seaweed wouldn't get off the pile. These are the ones I hope to finish for August.

I received A Business Proposal in the mail. I pre-ordered it after finishing the first one. I can't wait to dive right in.

I did receive some new manga this past week for review. I'm excited to check out.

How's your manga adventure going?

Born and raised in the forgotten and broken kingdom of Ashbury, Elora has spent years resenting the royals of Pumpkin Hollow, the kingdom that forced the fall of Ashbury and procured the town as its own.

Separated by a mysterious glass bridge, Ashbury is treated as the orphan kingdom, left to squander and starve, with only the promise of protection from King Jasper, preventing anyone outside their realm from searching for the magic that lay within the ashy valleys and red skies.

Because twenty-five years ago, the Cinder Fae arrived. As mysterious as the magic encompassing Ashbury, the Cinder Fae bargained for their lives by promising to keep the entire realm warm with their ability to mine mountainsides into coal.

But Elora and the Cinder Fae hold a secret that could bring the end to Ashbury and the mysterious winged creatures, who, despite Elora’s best efforts to pry, refuse to share where they came from or why they can’t return.

In her desperation to prevent the downfall of her kingdom and the death of her beloved Fae, Elora drinks from an enchanted spring, convinced she can make the prince of Pumpkin Hollow fall in love with her and guarantee their safety.

But magic takes to give.

refuse to be the catalyst for their dark ambition.

Time is running out, and the stakes have never been higher.

Review

I received Moon Promise in return for an honest review from the author.

Gabby and Gunner are still trapped by the LSS and things don't seem to be getting better. They are determined that Gabby is going to breed and shift for them. No matter what they do to her she can't shift without the amulet which isn't an option. As they push and push things are starting to feel dire. Will they escape from the LSS or be doomed to this fate till they get rid of them.

I really like Gabby as a character she's grown so much since the first book and just keeps getting better as the series continues. I like Gunner he's a perfect companion to Gabby they have this sweet sizzling chemistry. I also like the friend group they each bring something to the group creating a great team.

I loved Moon Promise it's another captivating installment full of sweet romance, enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. I loved the characters and the story it was hard to put down and I ended up devouring it in one short afternoon just like the two prior books. I just love Sara Snow's storytelling she's done a beautiful job creating another lovely series that I just love.

Moon Promise doesn't disappoint as the final book in the Gemini Wolves Sara Snow does a great job of tying up all the loose ends and giving us a perfect ending. My only complaint is I want more, story more of Gabby & Gunner after the series ended. I see so much potential for a new series and hope to see something in the future. I highly recommend checking out this series.

Review

I received Grave Secrets in return for an honest review from the author.

Allie has a month before her time as a reash her six year service time is coming to an end she has a month left before she has her mind wiped and is forced back to the human world. Deciding to figure out her plans for the future she sets off for the home she was left after her aunt passed away. Little did she know upon arriving in Bath that her life would change forever.

I love Allie she's been a hunter for the Angels fighting the demons that walk the earth she and she kicks butt doing it. I loved her first experience with chicken and waffles because I felt the same was she did. I loved Simon he's not perfect but he's a good guy trapped in a screwed up situation. I loved the chemistry between Allie and Simon they have this sweet connection.

Grave secrets is a fast paced action packed, whirlwind story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. The characters are easy to connect with you can't help falling in love and getting invested in the story. I really enjoyed the world building and the mystery involving Allie's family it was fascinating watching it unfold.

The author did a beautiful job creating a unique suspense fantasy with just enough romance to not overshadow the intriguing story. I loved everything about Grave Secrets it's a chunky book and sometimes that feels overwhelming but I didn't even notice that because I couldn't put it down and ended up losing all track of time. If you like a mystery with a little romance into the fantasy world Grave Secrets is your book. I loved every page and look forward to seeing what the next book entails!

Raising a young child with special needs can be tough and stressful, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. He’s everything to me, and the reason I keep going. It’s him and me against the world, and I have no intention of changing that.

Then, Kinsley McGregor walks back into my life.

Letting her go all those years ago was the hardest thing I had ever done, and having her here proves how good we are. Unfortunately, her Nashville life is calling, and I will have to let her go again.

This time, it’s not just my heart I risk, but my four-year-old son’s too.

Because Psychos deserve love too…sort of

One, two, Kookaburra’s laughing at you,

Three, four, she’s at your door,

Five, six, she’s up to tricks,

Seven, eight, lay the bodies out straight,

Nine, ten, she’s starting again.

Hatchet, Snow, Bones, Ghost, Honeymonster and Nightshade…silly names for silly boys who are now my favourite new toys.

They think they’re the biggest, baddest predators in the room but they’ve met their match in me. There’s a reason why they called me the Kookaburra Killer, and a reason why I laugh as I stand over dead man’s bodies…why would they be any different?

***

Prettiest Psycho is a dark ‘Why Choose’ novel, featuring absolute psychopaths with zero moral compass. Yes, they’re smoking hot guys that our heroine doesn’t have to choose between, but they are completely crazy. Then again, so is she. It ends on a HFN - as much as seven convicted serial killers are capable of being happy and in love.

Synopsis

Hudson was on the ground, bleeding out.

Anita, my sister, was still gone.

Bodies surrounded me in a bloody mess.

My powers, volatile and unpredictable, were far from being under control. I couldn't even manage my own emotions around Hudson, and now that failure carried a heart-wrenching price.

But it gets worse, everywhere I turn there are more secrets…

My own father had been a part of the Lunar Shadow Society all along, the very society that had taken Anita away. How could he conceal such a horrifying secret? Why had he suppressed our powers, erased our memories, shackling us in a prison of ignorance?

As I stand amidst the wreckage of my life, I must uncover the truth, unearth my family's dark secrets, and master my volatile powers. But time is ticking, the shadows are closing in, and Anita's clock is running out.

Can I piece together my shattered world before it's too late?

Review

I received Moon Touched in return for an honest review from the author.

Everything is quickly spiraling out of control in Gabby's world as bodies are piling up and she's no closer to finding her sister. Now she's learning that her father had a dark secret he was involved with the LSS that took her twin sister. Will she find her before it's to late?

I like Gabby she's not perfect which makes her feel more human. She's willing to do anything to find her sister even if it's not always the best choice. I like Gunner he's a good guy who's just trying to help Gabby find her sister. He has a past and the more we learn about it he's feelings make more sense. I like the connection between him and Gabby, even if they are both living trying to avoid it.

This is the second installment in the Gemini Wolves we've learned a little more about the LSS what they are really doing with the abductions. I find the idea for the story captivating it's a unique twist on the werewolf idea. I really like the idea behind the three powers that they can have and look forward to learning more about Gabby's powers as the series progresses.

I devoured Moon Touched in just an afternoon it was fast paced action packed and I just had to know what would happen next. The characters are easy to connect with you can't help liking Gabby and Gunner. They have their hands full with how the book ended. I can't wait to see how this plays out in the next book. I've always Sara Snows storytelling she does a beautiful job creating a captivating story.
