Review
I received Tragic in
return for an honest review as part of the tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours. Rook
is running from a dark past, which has changed her life, making it hard to
trust people, and willing to do almost anything for money. Rook has been living
at the shelter working as a house cleaner until she’s accused of stealing and
fired. When she receives a business card with an address and time she takes it
even though she’s not the intended card holder. Arriving for the modeling shoot
she instantly catches the eye of Ronin the guy who’s in charge of the girls,
who’s convinced she’s perfect for the role of Tragic.
Rook is offered more than
just the shot to model for Tragic she’s giving a chance at a new life by Elise
the photographer’s lover who used to be Rook. Elise explains that she has a
little apartment she can stay in, that she will be paid for shampooing hair it’s
not much but it will give her the chance to start a new life.
Rook accepts also taking the contract to model
for Tragic but it’s more than she expected when she sees her first outfit boy
shorts and a men’s button shirt. Rook will be making out with Ronin while the
photographers attempt to get the perfect picture but what is supposed to be
professional crosses the lines changing everything. Soon Rook is torn between
wanting to be independent making her own money and having the guy she’s falling
in love with. She’s offered another contract to model and secrets start to come
out.
I love the characters Rook
stole my heart right from the start I wanted to take her under my wing and help
her any way I could. I think what Elise did for Rook shows that there are good
people in the world. I wasn't sure about Ronin he had me on the fence though
most of the book by the end I was all for him and Rook. The author gives us
both sides of the coin we flip between what’s going on with Rook and Ronin
which I really enjoy. The chemistry between the two is on fire, it’s hard to
not be all swoony.
I've been dying to read a
J.A. Huss book I just hadn't had the chance. When I got the email about Tragic
with such a beautiful cover plus the synopsis screams read me I knew it was my
chance. I was so excited to get my hands on Tragic, the story captivated me
right from the start I couldn't put it down. I ended up staying up late reading
in bed while the hubby and puppy’s slept with my iced coffee. Tragic is a dark fast
paced emotional story that takes you from tears to leaving you breathless. I am
truly impressed it’s a beautiful story that captures the imagination and left
me wanting more. I will admit it’s a little on the adult size, filled with hot
guys, steamy scenes it’s not something I would suggest for teens unless they
are mature. That being said I think it’s stole the spot for my favorite New
Adult book. I can't wait to read the next one! I loved everything about Tragic!

Sorry guys I can't seem to get blogger to find it on youtube to link.
About the author
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).
She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.
