Diary Entry

Diary Update
Happy Saturday

I've been playing with creating my own daily feature and think I have it about figured out.

Randomness

Hubby is at the racetrack in Sonoma for Nascar still so the house is super loud with the kids having fun. I'm making homemade egg noodles for dinner with the chicken I have in the crockpot. I love lazy days of coffee and reading.

Spotlight
Vampires! I'm reading a review book with vampires today so I thought they would be perfect.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (Goodreads) I read this one weeks after it came out. So long ago before it was trendy. I have a best friend who suggested we would read it together. At the time we had no idea it would spark the sparkly vampire craze. I did attend opening night at the local Edwards theater. It was pure crazy yet so worth it. I've seen them all in theaters and read all the books. Yes I'm a fan I can admit it. Though not a fan of Kristen Stewart!!!!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (Review) I started the series out of order having already started the Bloodlines series. I had no issues connecting with the characters in this series as well. I need to finish the series even with one book it's got a special vampire place in my heart.

Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill (Goodreads) I've read the first couple but I'm behind as I seem to be with all my favorite series. Need to finish off my review pile so I can read all the books I've been missing.
Plus a few vampire books on my summer TBR list
Vamped by Lucienne Diver (Goodreads
Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst (Goodreads)
Isle of Night by Veronica Wolff (Goodreads)
Darkness Falls by Jessica Sorensen (Goodreads)
Love Bites by Lynsay Sands (Goodreads)
Bad Blood by Nicky Peacock (Goodreads)
Vampire Vacation by C.J. Ellisson (Goodreads)
Breathless by Scott Prussing (Goodreads)
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost (Goodreads)

New to me books
Since it's stacking the shelves Saturday I've been checking out others hauls and seen a few I had to add to my TBR shelf.

Taste Test by Kelly Fiore (Goodreads)

Nora Henderson has been basting baby back ribs for as long as she could reach the counter of her dad's famous barbecue joint. When she's accepted to Taste Test, a teen reality cooking competition, Nora can't wait to leave her humble hometown behind. On set, run-ins with the maddeningly handsome and talented son of a famous chef, Christian Van Lorten, make Nora wonder if it's him or the win she really wants, but as she and Christian emerge as front-runners for the final prize, Nora can't ignore the mysterious accidents plaguing the kitchen arena. Someone is conducting eliminations of their own, and if Nora doesn't stop them, she could be next to get "chopped" for good.

With romance and intrigue as delectable as the winning recipes included in the story, this debut novel will be devoured by all.

Sounds like a fun cute story. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Teaser from my current read:
Sun Poisoned
by Nikki Rae
Sunshine #2
(Goodreads)

There are a lot of people clapping and cheering, but above all the voices, Stevie and Jade's stand out the most. I can't see them in the crowd when I glance offstage because the spotlights blur everything out, but I hear them, shouting lines from This Is Spinal Tap, just like they said they would.

Instead of a light, electric keyboard sitting in front of Boo's drums, I'm greeted with a shiny, black piano, strung up with lights shaped like little Jack-o-lanterns. Instantly, I'm comforted and smiling. Boo takes his place at the drums and I follow him, sitting down on the bench. With the way the instruments are positioned, I can stare at him if my head is facing forward, but if I turn to the left, I'm facing the crowd. Trei picks up her violin from a stand and waits for Boo's cue.
