Review
I received Blood Moon in return
for an honest review as part of the tour hosted by Jolly Fish Press. Willa has
always been different from seeing ghosts to having dreams that later happen she’s
always felt alone. When a handsome stranger shows up at the dinner she’s
working at sparks fly more than the phrase they each feel the electricity
drawing them together.
At first they both attempt to
keep their secrets hidden away until Simon is put to the test and must save a
puppy from an accident but unexpectedly Willa takes it well even divulging her
abilities. As the two are quickly falling head over heels for each other Willa
makes a startling realization that a woman is being held captive in a basement
in town. She dreamed about her prior but didn't know how to find her till a
dark night when she’s walking home from work.
With Simon’s help they head off
into the night in attempt to save a stranger little do they know that after
tonight their lives will never be boring again. After saving Wynter they learn
that she’s a witch who informs them they are also untrained witches. She takes
them with her back to her home fearing that leaving them in Twelve Acres will
lead the dark witch who held her captive to find them.
After returning to Wynter’s home
the group decides to meet up with the rest of the coven’s to keep the new
witches save and hoping they will join their covens. However their training is
short lived after they are attacked by the dark covens and Simon and Wynter are
taken again. The remaining with have to band together to get them back before
it’s too late. Willa is thrust into a world she knows little about pushed into
a war of light vs dark.
I enjoy reading about Willa she’s
an interesting character her best friend is a ghost from the museum that she
loves. I wasn't super sure about the rapidness of her falling in love with
Simon but as I continued reading I knew that he’s a perfect match for her and
loves her equally as much. I think the instant connection between the two the electricity
is something that every girl wants when she finds the one.
I found the way the story is
written to be an intricate web giving insight into all supporting characters as
well as the main characters. I love getting little glimpse from different times
the way the past is connected to the present. The author has created a unique
twist on witches, taking familiar elements and using them in an exciting new
way. I enjoy the Blood Moon is a clean story so young teens as well as adults
will enjoy the story. I’m always a sucker for clean romance, I love the sweet
innocents and even though it’s more action then romance I love the little
hints. The story is captivating from start to finish even giving you a teaser
into the next novel. I look forward to
seeing what happens in the next book.
4 out of 5 stars
