I watched the Show Girls Next Door when it was on. So when I saw this one I just had to pick it up but I haven't gotten around to it because I don't read non-fiction. So this is my first non-fiction since school. So far I'm loving it.

Slowly, the large iron gates surrounding the infamous compound creaked open and our shuttle began its ascent up the steep driveway.

Other changes were afoot as well. Prior to the show, we’d almost never traveled—Hef was a creature of habit who despised any sort of variation from his routine. Once he finds a comfortable one, he’s bound to stick with it for at least the next few decades. So when we learned that the second season would see us not only on multiple trips to Las Vegas, but also on a two-week-long European getaway, we were flabbergasted. Paris, London, Cannes, Barcelona, Munich, Rome . . . for us, it was unheard of!

Synopsis
A former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner describes how her years inside the Playboy Mansion went from a fairytale of A-list celebrity parties to an oppressive regime of strict rules, scheduled sex, and a total loss of identity, so much so that she even contemplated suicide.

What teasers do you have this week?

  1. Oh God, I used to watch the show as well and could just never get over how hilariously ridiculous it was xD Also, this is not how I imagined the book to sound but I am slightly curious as to the rest of it now! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great week!

    1. Hi Juli I honestly just picked it up because I was curious but it's so well written I can't get over it. I'm really enjoying seeing the darker less funny side of it. Have a great weekend.

  4. I'm definitely curious! I'll admit to watching the show several times and being fascinated and repelled at the same time. This sounds like it could be an entertaining book.

    1. I think the fact that it's not what everyone expects from the mansion and it's true makes it all the better. Even though it's true she says we will never really know.

  6. Oh, wow! I have to read this! I used to watch the show too, kind of out of a morbid curiousity. I remember wondering how anyone so young and pretty could be truely happy with Hugh, and having to share him, at that! Thanks for sharing! Also, thanks for visiting my Friday post! Happy reading!

    1. That's why I watched it. I honestly couldn't imagine why these young beautiful woman would want to be with him. I figured they all wanted his money anyway. However I guess some good came out of it for each one. It's defiantly interesting.
