Field parties are about as much fun as they sound. It’s just a bunch of kids getting wasted in the middle of nowhere as a way to pass the time. They were lame in high school and even lamer after a year spent away at college. Yet there I was, drinking my third Smirnoff (it was that or crappy beer) waiting for my friend to finish messing around with her boyfriend so she could drive me home.
I sighed, turning my back on the line of cars illuminating the pasture that was, thankfully, devoid of cows at the moment. Someone was blaring really bad music that I knew would be stuck in my head for a week.
Review
Mallory may be home for the summer but it’s quickly
coming to an end when she will be returning back to college and a life away
from the small town. When she runs into her ex-‘s little brother at a party
things are anything but simple as the night ends rolling in the hay. While he
may have read more into it Mallory isn’t willing to get trapped with a small
town guy she has plans for the future so she leaves town avoiding Colton.
Thinking she’s left him behind because he will head off to another college
Mallory immerses herself back in her sorority even meeting a returning Kappa.
However on the night they meet the new pledges Mallory is
shocked to see Colt is a new Kappa pledge and he’s not ready to let her go just
yet. While Mallory tries to stay away it won’t be easy with him showing up
every chance he can to try to win her heart. Plus after a few dates with Tanner
it’s clear that she wasn’t into the one night stand like she thought. Will
Mallory settle for the safe relationship or risk her heart on going against
everything she’s told herself she wouldn’t?
I really enjoyed Mallory as a character it’s not easy to
leave the small town behind speaking from experience but I think she does a
good job fitting in with life on campus. Plus she has her two best friends Juliet
from the prior book and Cara. I love that the characters from the prior book
intertwined throughout this one and I’m looking forward to who’s story we will
meet next after all we met a new sorority girl.
I’ve had this one since I finished the last one just
needed to find time to sit down and read and I Finished The Hazards of a One
Night Stand in just an afternoon. While the concept isn’t new the author has
created a beautifully written college romance that just melts my heart. I
enjoyed the story its fun made me smile and made me cry with happy tears I’m a
sucker for a happy ever after. I love that the author brings back characters
from the prior books because I loved Juliet and Reed so much and even though
they are my favorite I still really like Mallory and Cara and I’m curious to
see if the next one is Cara’s story. The Hazards stories are New Adult so they
do have some steamy parts but I think they are tastefully done and not
overwhelming in the books. I loved every moment of the book it’s a fun story
with great characters and well written. I admit that the author is one of my
favorites and I do auto buy without reading the synopsis but I’ve never been disappointed
a must for any fan of romance. Or someone wanting to check out New Adult.
