Review
Felix used to be in the military but while on a tour in Iraq it ended badly, stuck with his guilt he drew the attention of a vampire who turned him into a vampire. Now that he’s not longer in the military he’s working as a private detective trying to put his new vampire skills to work. Felix isn’t like the other vampires he relies on animal blood but after being on animal blood it’s starting to affect his vampire powers.

His current case has brought him to Rocky Flats, working for his old friend trying to solve the case of how several women ended up with a rare case of Nymphomania. Felix connects with the local chapter of vampires and sets to work to solve his case. However, he learns quickly that this case isn’t going to be as easy as he hoped as he’s dodging bullets and vampire hunters. Will Felix figure out what Redlight is? Will he stop the vampire hunters? What about his new love interest Wendy?

I like Felix he’s a good guy, even though he feels super guilty for the death of the little girl even though it was an accident. Unable to be forgiven he’s refused to drink human blood sustaining himself on animal blood but at a cost of weakening himself. Wendy is exactly as I would have expected to be supernatural herself. We are giving a little insight into the vampire world getting to new some of the Denver vampires.

My husband has been pushing me to read the Felix Gomez series because he loves it so much. I’ve been putting planning to read it but never seemed to get around to it just yet, but with the new year, it was a perfect time. The Nymphos of Rocky Flats is a fast paced action packed novel full of twists that kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end. A captivating novel with an easy to connect with the character that you can’t help liking, he has this charm that I like. I admit I wasn’t sure about the vampire concept at first because it is unique they don’t sparkle but they aren’t typical either. I really enjoyed the authors writing style he’s done a great job weaving an intricate story that I enjoyed. The Nymphos of Rocky Flats is a perfect introduction to an exciting new series which I look forward to reading. Highly recommend for urban fantasy fans who love a good mystery.
