Diary Entry

Diary Update
July 31st 2013

This is a little Mandy post that I attempt daily. I love being able to ramble about all things bookish.  I've been slacking and I want to try harder to create a better daily diary post.

Currently Reading

Obsidian
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
(Goodreads)

I decided to join the trend and start the Obsidian series. I'm so happy that I did. The main character has a book review blog. I love it!!!! May be a Lux weekend. Well if the hubby will let me read. Sheesh.

Synopsis

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

Opening

I stared at the pile of boxes in my new bedroom, wishing the Internet had been hooked up. Not being able to do anything with my review blog since moving here was like missing an arm or a leg. According to my mom, “Katy’s Krazy Obsession” was my whole life. Not entirely, but it was important to me. She didn’t get books the way I did.

This is me with my hubby, I even read this paragraph to him he didn't get it. He makes me GRRR sometimes.

Mandy update & random facts

My hubby has always wanted a English Bulldog but I got the husky/mally puppy first. Yesterday he came home and he knows I really wanted a giant malamute we just couldn't find one. But I love my stinky puppy he's 6 months and over 80 pounds what's not to love. So yesterday my sweet hubby told me I could get a giant mally after my puppy is more mature because he needs a buddy. I think by this time next year is going to be about right he will be leaving the puppy stage.

I read every email before I delete it. Yup I hate to miss something and I'm always looking for new ideas for the reading diaries. It gets scary when I have over 400 plus emails but I will read every single one sometimes spending hours and hours checking them. So I'm slow on replying.

I love letting my kindle keyboards robot voice read to me while I multitask. I'm so used to it I don't notice it half the time. Part of the reason I love my kindle keyboards.

I don't care to read on my hd fire because of all the apps it's easy to get lost playing games or hanging out on facebook.

I love to make bracelets/booksmarks but I have a hard time finishing because I always find a new pattern.

August goal list so far
Read at least 30 books
clear off a good chunk of my review pile
Catch up on my challenges
Blog more reveals and blitz.
Make a bookmart a day I'll have to share one of these days.
Finish at least two purses I'll have to take pictures of my little crafty projects
Work on quilt and several rows on my crochet blanket I'll have to take pictures
Journal more
work on procrastination
Work on being more social on blogs. I'm shy and it keeps me quiet. I need to work on breaking out of that shell.

New to me book this week

Blood Shadows
by Lindsay J. Pryor

This one sounds interesting I even picked up a ecopy to check out. I just can't seem to get enough vampire books but I still prefer my werewolves or zombies.

For vengeance - would you trust a vampire?

For justice - could you betray your family?

For love - are you ready to question everything you believe in?

Gifted with the ability to read the shadows of ‘third species’ beings, Caitlin Parish is the Vampire Control Unit’s most powerful agent. Despite that, her mission to hunt down Kane Malloy – a master vampire – comes with a death wish. Many have tried, but few have survived.

For Caitlin, tracking Kane is about more than just professional reputation. With her parents both mysteriously killed 7 years apart to the day, Caitlin knows that without Kane’s help she is next.

She has four days to make a deal with the wicked, the irresistible, the treacherous Kane Malloy. The vampire who despises everything she stands for.

Or die.

Look like time to read.
