Synopsis

Lincoln Marshall is a small-town deputy with a very big problem. Six members of his church have been found dead, killed by a rogue werewolf. He'll have to make a deal with the Devil to save victims that have gone missing -- maybe literally.

Elise Kavanagh, preternatural investigator and exorcist, is the expert when it comes to violent deaths at the jaws of evil. She's also the demon known as the Godslayer. Elise jumps at Lincoln's case, and it's not just because of his down-home charm. Someone's laid a trap for her in Northgate, and she wants to find out who.

She'll have to team up with Rylie Gresham, Alpha of the last surviving werewolf pack, to figure out who's trying to blame the murders on werewolves. Only together can they stop the killings -- and uncover the secrets buried in Northgate.

Review
I received Sacrificed in Shadow in return for an honest review from the author.  Bodies are piling up in Northgate so Lincoln Marshall steps out of the norm and hires a demon to find the killer. Elise is a preternatural investigator who also happens to be a demon which makes her perfect for this case. The bodies look like werewolf attack which is another one of her skills. There is another reason she decides to take the case, she has a sinking feeling it’s a trap and she wants to know why.

Upon arriving in Northgate she befriends Riley and her pack of werewolves who are trying to clear their name because they are peaceful. They just want to live on their land in the sanctuary that they are building. Elise will have to work with the wolf queen if she wants to find the killer. As the group get closer to stopping the killings, secrets will be uncovered that will change everything.

Elise is an interesting character she’s a demon with a conscious which I really enjoyed. She’s not a good girl but she’s not really a bad girl either at least not in my mind. She’s kick-ass which is always a plus I love characters who aren't helpless and need a man.  I didn't get a lot of Riley the story is predominantly about Elise which is ok because even though I love werewolves I was enchanted by everything Elise. I think Riley as well as her wolves just enhanced the story. I enjoyed both girls they each bring something special to the team, and I cheered for both of them.

Sacrificed in Shadows is a mixture of two series interacting in a new exciting series. An action packed adventure filled with twists, turns and surprises that keep you guessing till the end. The author has taken Elise from the Descent series and paired her with Riley from Season of the Moon. I only knew a little about the characters because their other series are on my TBR list. The concept is unique and exciting it’s a truly captivating story from start to finish. I enjoyed the characters they are easy to connect with and well created. The book is executed beautifully creating a world that is easy to get lost in for hours where humans live among the not so human. My only complaint is that I've not read the series for each of these awesome girls so I feel like I’m missing out. However I still loved the story.  It’s a fast read perfect for a lazy afternoon to get your supernatural fix. Looking forward to the next book in the series as well as check out the other series.
4 out of 5 stars

  1. Elise, Rylie, and Lincoln all sound like really interesting characters in this supernatual world!I haven't read any of the titles, but Sacrificed in Shadow sounds like a great supernatural series to try out. Thanks for the great review.
