In a world where women are commodities, the only thing more rare than finding true love is a happy ending.

Kayla is in hiding—her only crime being born a girl in a society of 99 percent men. When her sister and niece are kidnapped, she is willing to do anything to save them. Kayla ventures into the dangerous streets of the city, a place where a woman can be claimed by anyone unless she has been marked by a club.

Desperate, she turns to Mason, a powerful club leader whose help comes at a cost—her freedom.

Review

I received Corded in return for an honest review from the author. Kayla lives in a world where women are few and far between and they are used as breeders or in clubs. Kayla's sister has already left home moving with her husband and having a little girl proving that she would be a breeder. While Kayla stays at home she's protected by her baby brother and rather hidden from the traders who hope to find girls to sell. When the life she knows is threatened she finds herself taken from the only home she's know and her sister headed for Center a breeding facility.

Determined to get her sister back she escapes from her captors, and flee's to the city in hopes of finding Ethan a boy she grew up with. Kayla's only chance to get her sister back is by making a deal with Mason the leader of one of the clubs where Ethan is. Little did she know at the time that she would find more than she bargained for and Mason might just be what she needs. Will Kayla get her sister back? What about her growing connection to Mason?

I like Kayla she's a good person who's had a rough life but doesn't want to give up on finding her sister yet. I like that she's willing to risk her life to do what is right and isn't afraid to fight for what she wants. I wasn't sure about Mason at first but as the book progresses I knew he was the one. The chemistry between the two just works so well and they found what they are missing in life. The characters are great I found Kayla easy to connect with really liking her and even Mason found a place in my heart. We also have a few supporting characters I'm looking forward to seeing again.

I've had my eye on Corded for years anxiously waiting for it to come out and at last the moment has come. I love the author's books but this is outside her normal genre so I was a little unsure what to expect. Corded is an emotional rollercoaster, it pulled me out of my comfort zone as Kayla makes a deal to join the other girls if Mason can get her sister. The way that women are treated is awful but in all honestly it makes sense that this is how it would happen in a dystopia world. Corded is a beautifully written story it sparked all kinds of emotions as the book progressed. It was hard to put down I had to know what was going to happen to Kayla and Mason next. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
