Synopsis

Trinity

Don’t leave me here... It starts with a whisper. At first Trinity thinks she’s going crazy. It wouldn’t be a big surprise—her grandpa firmly believes there’s a genuine dragon egg in their dusty little West Texas town. But this voice is real, and it’s begging for her protection. Even if no one else can hear it...

Connor
He’s come from a future scorched by dragonfire. His mission: Find the girl. Destroy the egg. Save the world.

Caleb
He’s everything his twin brother Connor hates: cocky, undisciplined, and obsessed with saving dragons.

Trinity has no idea which brother to believe. All she has to go by is the voice in her head—a dragon that won’t be tamed.

Review

I've had my eye for a while on Scorched based on the cover alone. Trinity is a gamer girl living with her grandfather. Life hasn't been easy she didn't know her dad and her mom passed away leaving her with her grandfather. When her grandfather tells her about a dragon egg that was found by a team and it’s coming to Texas Trinity doesn't expect the egg to be real. When the egg turns out to be the real deal, soon she’s able to speak with the dragon in the egg. As if a baby dragon isn't enough she also has the attention of two strangers one who wants to destroy the egg and one who wants to save the egg.

When Conner the dragon hunter heads off to get her grandfather Trinity takes off with Caleb in attempt to save her little dragon egg. After all the group they head off the join is all about changing the future, and the guys would know all about the future since that is where they came from. Trinity learns more about the plans for the future about the ones who claim to want to save the dragons. As she learns more about her dragon, she encounters an extremely difficult hatching with Emmy but she does hatch. Do they really want to save the dragons or do the leaders have evil motives.

I instantly connected with Trinity she’s a gamer, and granted I’m a closet WoW player she had me giggling about her intense desire for the new expansion. I wasn't sold on the gut but in the end I was rooting for them just like I was with Trinity. That being said I think Conner is my favorite his brother frustrated me through most of the book. However I’m not sure how it will work out since both guys like Trinity. Her grandfather reminds me a lot of my grandfather when I was a teenager. I could see him logging into wow and saying the same stuff.

I've had this one on my TBR list since the day I heard about it. I’m a huge dragon fan and of course Scorched is a must for all dragon fans. The characters are likable  you can’t help falling in love with Trinity she’s just a good person. Plus add in two attractive guys one a hunter and one a dragon guardian what’s not to love. Scorched has a captivating concept I think the author has done a fantastic job creating a unique story that’s very original with the idea of dragons. I was instantly drawn into the book; I honestly wasn't able to put it down. Started last night and passed out only to finish this afternoon it’s such an awesome book. I love the story it’s fast paced filled with action, enough suspense to keep you guessing and a little romance a perfect mix. I’m going to be impatiently waiting for the next book, because I can’t wait to see what happens next. Scorched is a clean book so teens as well as adults will enjoy it. This is my first book by this author but now I need to start her other books.  I loved Scorched I'll be reading this again I'm sure.
5 out of 5 stars
