Diary Entry

Diary Update
October 14th 2013

I've been in a blogging/reading funk the last few weeks. I've turned into a huge slacker but I'm starting to come out of it. My routine is set at home life is getting back to normal. Well I hope.

Reading Updates

I'm reading Skinwalker by Faith Hunter (Goodreads) for one of my reading challenges. I've had this book on my TBR for ages. I purchased a paperback years ago like 3 or 4 years. Then this week I picked up the ebook only to find the paperback. So now I have both. I hope it turns out good. I love the synopsis and the cover I can tell she's a kick-ass-heroine which I love BTW.

Teaser
With a last slash of claws across my psyche. Beast was gone and I was left, my flesh and muscles aching, my nostrils deadened, vision drab and colorless, even as the sun lit the eastern sky. Human once again, my hair draped over me like a shawl. My bones ached as if I were old, in mind and soul.

This week I need to read 5 books. I've only read 5 books this month with is embarrassing. I'm hoping to read twenty more before the month is over, but will be happy with 15.

My goal for the year is 200 books but I'm only at 128 and goodreads is telling me I'm 28 books and 14% behind. I'm already planning on doing 200 for next year even if I hit it or not.

Over the year I've accepted so many review books I've missed out the chance to read all the ones I've been purchasing. Since that is the case I've decided to not request any review books unless it's a must read. I need to catch up on the huge stack I've requested and not read. I'm not proud that I've requested so many yet never read them but that's all I'm planning on reading for the rest of the year.

My hubby is going from a desk job back to his flying job which means he'll be on the road a lot more but I'll also have more time for reading and more money to shop for books. I've got a soft spot for physical books but the hubby isn't a fan of all my books. I think I'm going to turn the extra space in our huge bedroom into a reading library while he's gone after the first of the year.

TV/Movie update
I'm still a Revenge addict. I can't seem to get enough. I also watch Once upon a time with the hubby. We watched the new Once Upon wonderland the new one with Alice. I enjoyed it him not so much. I also have been watching the lifetime coven series. I can't deny the fact that I'm addicted to movies and Tv it's just fun. I'm looking forward to the new Thor just saw the preview while watching last nights Revenge. This summer we saw Pacific Rim at the drive in. Well my hubby and his best friend did, I feel asleep in the back of the truck with the kids. It comes out Tuesday so I'm excited to finally see it. I also have watched the Croods a zillion times since we picked it up.

Animal update
Grimm is still growing like a weed. He's lucky he's so damn cute because he's a brat. He's sitting on the sofa next to me. So I've had two cats for years one developed feline leukemia and had to be put down before summer it was tough because he was my best buddy. My other cat has always been the feral don't touch me type. Now that I'm down to one he's turned into the cuddle bug. It's kind of funny he torments the dog by dancing away from him they play a crazy game of cat and mouse. Only it's 13 pound kitty vs 100 pounds of hyper puppy.

Newest addition to my shelf
I've had this one on my wishlist and saw it was out today. I picked up a ebook copy. Looking forward to reading it.

You. Your best friend. Every person you know.
Many worlds. Many lives--infinite possibilities.
Welcome to the multiverse.

Sixteen-year-old Sasha Lawson has only ever known one small, ordinary life. When she was young, she loved her grandfather's stories of parallel worlds inhabited by girls who looked like her but led totally different lives. Sasha never believed such worlds were real--until now, when she finds herself thrust into one against her will.

To prevent imminent war, Sasha must slip into the life of an alternate version of herself, a princess who has vanished on the eve of her arranged marriage. If Sasha succeeds in fooling everyone, she will be returned home; if she fails, she'll be trapped in another girl's life forever. As time runs out, Sasha finds herself torn between two worlds, two lives, and two young men vying for her love--one who knows her secret, and one who thinks she's someone she's not.

The first book in the Many-Worlds Trilogy, Tandem is a riveting saga of love and betrayal set in parallel universes in which nothing--and no one--is what it seems.
