Waiting on Wednesday!

Waiting on Wednesday August 1st 2012

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating. In my case not so patiently waiting for the new releases, which I lack.

I've always had a special place in my heart for shapeshifts thanks to Laurell K. Hamiltons characters who first introduced me to them. So this week I stumbled on the cover for the new Mercy Thompson book and I have to have it like yesterday. I am a die hard fan for both Patricia Briggs shapeshifter series.

Frost Burned
by Patricia Briggs
Book 7 in the Mercy Thompson Series
Expected Publication March 5th 2013
Synopsis

Shapeshifter Mercy Thompson's life is calming down, at least enough that she can focus on mundane matters like Black Friday sales. But on her return, Mercy is unable to contact her mate, Alpha Adam Hauptman, or the other members of their pack. All she knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam's disappearance may be related - and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from the most unlikely of allies: the vampire seethe.

Review
I picked up Moon Called on a suggestion from a Barnes and Nobles sales guy who said that the series was awesome. I read all of them current in a weekend a few years ago, and I've stayed current ever since. Also reading the Alpha & Omega series since it has some of the same characters in it. I started blogging after I had already read the newest ones so I don't have reviews to link. Since I don't have reviews and love both series as my favorite I think it's time to read them over and write proper reviews from them all. Think I'll have to re- read them in prep for this new book coming out in March.

Other Books in the series
#1 Moon Called - goodreads
#2 Blood Bound - goodreads
#3 Iron Kissed - goodreads
#4 Bone Crossed - goodreads
#5 Silver Borne - goodreads
#6 River Marked - goodreads

There is also a spin off series
#1 Cry Wolf - goodreads
#2 Hunting Ground - goodreads
#3 Fair Game - goodreads

Blurb from Goodreads about the series  that describes it best.

"Mercedes is a Volkswagen mechanic living in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. Her Native American heritage has gifted her with the ability to take the form of a coyote at will. She's surrounded by far more powerful supernatural beings, including werewolves, vampires and an assortment of fae. "

What are you waiting on?
