I received Storm Siren in return for an honest review as
part of the tour hosted by FFBC. Nym hasn’t always been a slave
only after the accidental death of her parents was she forced to become a
slave. She’s been sold more times than most having fourteen owners but it’s
when she’s sold again that her life changes drawing the attention of Adora a
wealthy influential women who sees who she really is. Elementals have been
hunted to extinction they also are all male so Nym is extremely rare and Adora
has big plans for her.
Adora sends Nym into training with Eogan who is also
training young Colin in hopes that they will be able to save Faelen from the
Brons who are intent on attacking with forces unlike any that Faelen has. Nym
needs to control her ability with the storm or it could lead to more deaths,
and she already has a lot of blood on her hands. In Colin and his sister Brek
she finds friends and with Eogan she finds something she’s been lacking.
However Adora also has her eyes set on Eogan which may just be her undoing.
Will Nym be able to save Faelen? Will she deny her attraction to Eogan?
I liked Nym right from the start she’s had such a rough life
but it’s made her stronger and it’s interesting to see where she came from. I
also really liked Brek and Colin they are interesting characters who I think
bring more to the story. I love Eogan he’s perfect for Nym which I think is
what she needs and he helps cool her storm. Of course we have the bad guys in
the story which I think are a must.
I knew from the moment I saw the cover that I had to read
Storm Siren because it’s just so beautiful. Storm Siren is a fantasy novel that
captures the reader right from the start loaded with action, suspense, and even
a little romance. I’ve been burned out on epic style fantasy for a while but I
found the story unique and refreshing it left me wanting more. I connected with
Nym she’s not perfect and comes from a tragic back story which made her feel
more real. I also found a few other characters in the story interesting even if
I didn’t care for her Adora was very unique. I really enjoyed the way the novel
is written it flows smoothly from start to finish it’s one of those books that’s
easy to get lost in and I did lose all track of time. I loved Haven she didn’t
have any lines but she found a place in my heart. The author has created a spellbinding new
series that is must read for all fantasy fan it has everything you could
possible need. I highly recommend it, and it was a perfect book to pull me out
of my fantasy funk. I can't wait for the next one.
