Synopsis

Human or vampire, the rules of survival are the same: never trust, never yield, and always – always – guard your heart.

The adopted human daughter of the Nightborn vampire king, Oraya carved her place in a world designed to kill her. Her only chance to become something more than prey is entering the Kejari: a legendary tournament held by the goddess of death herself.

But winning won’t be easy amongst the most vicious warriors from all three vampire houses. To survive, Oraya is forced to make an alliance with a mysterious rival.

Everything about Raihn is dangerous. He is a ruthless vampire, an efficient killer, an enemy to her father’s crown… and her greatest competition. Yet, what terrifies Oraya most of all is that she finds herself oddly drawn to him.

But there’s no room for compassion in the Kejari. War for the House of Night brews, shattering everything that Oraya thought she knew about her home. And Raihn may understand her more than anyone – but their blossoming attraction could be her downfall, in a kingdom where nothing is more deadly than love.

The Serpent and the Wings of Night is the first book in a new series of heart-wrenching romance, dark magic, and bloodthirsty intrigue, perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Review

Oraya is a human girl living in the vampire world but she's not week she's a badass and even enters a tournament to become more. I love that she's willing to risk her own life to fight the very monsters who use her own kind as cattle. She teams up with Raihn a vampire also taking part in the tournament.

My bestie Anna and I picked this one to buddy read. I received the special edition from the Owlcrate subscription box it's stunning I couldn't bring myself to remove the plastic wrapper. So I opted to read the kindle copy that I had. Which has an equally beautiful cover. I can't believe I waited so long to get to this one because I devoured it in just a few quick days.

I just loved Oraya she's such a badass character she entered a tournament with vampire which puts her life at risk every challenge but with the help of Raihn she might just make it out alive. I love the chemistry between them it's steamy but he's always got her back even if he is a rival.

This is my first book by the author but I'm obsessed with her writing style. She created this captivating adventure with just the right amount of romance and full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end. The Serpent and the Wings of Night exceeded my expectation it's beautifully done. I loved every moment and I can't wait to dive right into the next one and see how it's all going to play out.
