Brisk winds moved through the valley loosening the red, yellow, and orange leaves from the trees. No sooner had he stepped outside chills raced throughout his body. With only two classic car events left before the season ends, tonight’s gala was the highlight of the year.

Wesley Johns, a private fraud investigator resided in the capital city of Idaho with his loving wife, Marti, and their two four-legged children, Oz and Annie. With Old Man winter around the corner, he hurried to close as many cases as he could before the potential suspects locked themselves in the warm confines of their homes making it almost impossible to gather any evidence on them.

The roar of the Bird’s engine came to life vibrating the garage walls as soon as he turned the ignition key. With his bride by his side, they were ready to put behind the horror of Wes’s latest near-death adventure and celebrate with their friends. Laughter, music and screams of Halloween terror echoed throughout the large hall. People were dressed in costumes as they tried to relive their youth. As the evening’s merriment continued, Wes had an uneasy feeling that the night was not going to end well. As the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end and a slight chill raced throughout his body, he realized from previous experiences and it was not good.

As soon as he heard the following: “Elv, Elv, Elv…” he knew those utterances would haunt him for the rest of his life. From the moment, Detective Miller walked into the building Wes knew he would be drawn into another dangerous case where the valley’s infamous crime-solving duo again would be called upon. With Oz, his eighty-plus-pound four-legged partner by his side, they entered a world where people hid behind their mask not wanting to expose their deepest secrets and twisted love affairs. Wes and Oz would have to outmaneuver a devious and cunning killer if they wanted to escape with their lives.

Nevertheless, to do this and come out un-scathed, Wes would have to outsmart his nemesis, Christopher Andrew Leggett notoriously known for putting Wes in precarious situations.

Follow along as our favorite crime-solving team, Wes and Oz work to uncover the killer in “Death has no Sorrow.”

I received an advance copy of Death has no Sorrow from the author in return for an honest review.

Wes & Oz are back this time what should have been a fun Halloween party has turned sinister as one of the guests is murdered. One of the guests that just so happened to have been seen talking to Wes. As if Wes doesn't have his hands full with a stack of cases to solve, his bumbling brother in law, and now he needs to find the killer at the party.

This is the fifth book in the Wes and Oz mysteries. I love Wes he's one of my favorite detectives and each book has a great cast of support characters that just enhance the story so much. I just loved Chris in this one he's such a perfect disaster and brings so much chaos to the story. As always Oz is just perfect as always as adorable fluffy protector of his meal ticket.

I think this may be my favorite book purely because Chris is one of those characters you just love to hate and I spent most of the book laughing. This one kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end and I never figured it out. I love all the twist and turns that kept me guessing. I thought I had it figured out only to have the story spiral a different way. I ended up devouring this one in just an afternoon I had to know how is was going to all play out.

The author has done another beautiful job creating a captivating story that captures my attention and keeps me drawn in to the very end. I love the concept for these cozy mysteries they focus around a detective and his classic car club which I found interesting. I loved every moment of Death has no Sorrow it's a perfect edition to the series and I can't wait for the next one to come out. Highly recommend if you enjoy a mystery that will keep you on your toes and laughing.
