The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

It's been a crazy busy week. I was so excited for Bout of Books but sadly I haven't gotten a lot of reading done this week. I think I've gotten out of my slump and set some good goals for September.
As of Monday both kids will be back in school so the house will be quiet and much easier to fall into reading for hours. I've been on a TV binge watching kick which doesn't happen very often.
I've been doing the whole fitbit thing the last two weeks. Trying to increase my steps each day. I've got a great partner while our husbands are gone but her goal is way above mine. I'm shooting for 7k this week while she's working towards 15k. My goal isn't huge because I'm hoping to get a bunch of reading done and may look at audio books in the future. I think I'm going to start taking the puppies on our long walk around the duckpond after dropping off the kids.
I'm ready for fall cooler temperatures pumpkin spice latte's and visiting the apple orchards. I want to make a bunch of apple butter and baked apples to can. There is this amazing set of orchards just down the highway which are starting to open. So lots of fall canning in the near future and my dad wants me to give pumpkin butter a try.

I hope everyone is staying cool and having a great weekend.

  2. I want to try canning! It would be for sure a fall thing. We have a farm by us that is really good with lots of yummy apples and stuff. I want to do a lot of cooking and baking this fall/winter. I feel like I have been missing it since the summer I don't cook as much.

I am also out of my slump. I think the weather was a main reason I was so slumpy. When it's hot I hate to do anything but no one wants to move to Alaska with me, so, I guess in the summers everyone just has to deal with me being slumpy ;)

I hope you have a fantastic week, Mandy! Happy Reading!!! ox

I can't wait to get out to our orchards to pick some apples. Fresh apples just taste sooooo much better. I'll have to try my hand at apple butter - is it hard????????? o.O I'm pulling banana bread out of the oven as we speak so I have some skills (tee, hee)

    Have a great week!!!

  6. Wow, it seems to be the season as I notice a few people have started doing some walking! Perhaps it's because the weather is cooling down there.

Hopefully the kids settle back into school and some routines, but well done on setting your Sept goals!

  7. Too bad you didn't read as much as you hoped, but that's great you got out of your slump! It's nice you get some walking done, combining that with audiobooks sounds like a good idea if you like them. I haven't tried listening to audiobooks myself yet.
I am also ready for fall to get here, it's been way too warm this summer. Have a great week!
