In the city that never sleeps the Chronicles continue…

Serving coffee is temporary, just like Casey's year off from school. She’s going to come up with a plan to stay in New York City and go back to college, and that plan does not involve dating a paranormal creature—let alone two.

Running the supernatural society of New York is not as fun as it sounds, especially when you still have to answer to your ex-girlfriend’s fiancĂ©. Toby doesn’t mean to bring Casey into the chaos of his life, but he can't resist the girl who makes him smile when he thought no one else ever could.

Jared's in New York checking out a security risk for his best friend, the king. He plans to return to New Orleans quickly, but not if it means losing his chance with the brunette who pretends she wants nothing to do with him.

In over her head with a bunch of winged creatures who most definitely are not angels, Casey has to figure out who to trust with her life and maybe her heart.
Review
I’ve had Soar on my shelf for a while but never seemed to get around to it yet. With the upcoming release of Storm it was the perfect time to get current. Casey is taking a break from school hoping to get her schooling figured out so she can start back up next year. Working full time at a coffee shop just down the street from where she lives with her cousin. What should be a routine trip out to the trash turns quickly wrong when she encounters a massive wolf but before the wolf can attack her a man with wings swoops in saving her from the attack. Toby is in charge of the Supernatural Society of New York after he took over for his grandfather. He’s got his own issues like dealing with the fact his ex-girlfriend is engaged to the King of the Society.

With the increase in attacks Toby needs to figure out why the wolves and bear shifters are threating the society but he won’t have to do it alone. The king has sent in Jared to investigate and see what is going on with New York. Toby has finally asked Casey out for a date and the couple have only had a few when Jared decides that he also wants Casey after just a chance meeting. As if they danger isn’t heating up the shifters are after Casey but no one knows why but they do have her sister. Will Casey see her sister again? Will she choose Jared or Toby?

I like Casey she’s a down to earth kind of girl and exactly what I’ve come to love when it comes to Alyssa Rose Ivy characters. I did have a few moments when I wanted to smack her and in my head I was screaming at her to stop. I loved Toby for Casey he’s exactly what she needs and he is exactly what she needs even though she doesn’t know it yet. I want to dislike Jared but he’s such a good guy and kind of hard to. I hate love triangles because someone always ends up hurt. Fingers crossed this one fixes it self in the next book.

I’m so torn I want to say I love Soar but this love triangle has me down. I know in true Alyssa Rose Ivy fashion that it will all work out in the series but I still hate seeing one of them hurt. So besides that love triangle hang up I’m struggling to get over the story is great. I’ve really enjoyed all the spins off The Crescent Chronicles because I love Allie and Levi so seeing them pop up in Soar is awesome. I liked the character even when I shouldn’t have I liked the characters. I did get a little tease of Owen pre Allure Chronicles which I am enjoying. I connected with all three of the characters as we are told the story from each of them. Soar is another beautifully written story with a cliffhanger that will leave you scrambling for the next book. The author does an amazing job creating a truly captivating novel that captures the heart as well as the imagination. I know I can’t wait to start the next one it’s already on my kindle. I can’t wait to see how it plays out in this love triangle that I am still stuck on.
