What would you do if your parents were stranded in the zombie apocalypse half a continent away? For sixteen-year-old Charlie and his younger brother Jack, the answer is a road trip like no other. In search of their parents, they scale the continental summit and then descend into the scorching desert canyons of the southwest. Along the way, they battle zombie Elvis, the air force, and a psychotic dry cleaner lurking among the zombie hordes. Inferno of the Undead is an epic tale of two brothers’ plunge into the fiery twisted heart of the apocalypse.

Review
I received Inferno of the Undead in return for an honest review from the author. Inferno of the Undead takes place not long after the end of the prior book. The boys made it away safe and are staying with Granny while their parents are being quarantined by the government. After all have to make sure the Zombie disease doesn’t spread this time like the cruise ship did. However when their parents don’t come home the boys make an excuse to Granny and head off to bring them home, but before they can make it to the train they get split up. Sending Jack to the Mannings on the train and leaving Charlie behind. At least he won’t have to make the journey alone when he teams up with Aric.

Before meeting up with the Mannings Jack jumps off the train in part because his brother didn’t catch up and makes the rest of the journey by foot. Charlie also makes the journey by vehicle but along the way they encounter lots of zombies. When the boys finally meet up it’s at a zombie bloodbath and they get separated from the group. Together they head along the river for Vegas where their last contact of where their parents are. Will they make it to Vegas before the military blows up the whole area before the zombies get out? Or will a crazy guy on a boat be the end of them?

I like Charlie and Jack more and more each one has grown so much since the cruise ship.  It’s interesting to see them each out on their own against the rising hordes of zombies. They both had to grow up so fast acting more mature than most teenagers. They are also smart thinking and quick on their feet when it comes to doing what needs to be done to survive.

Inferno of the Undead is a fast paced action packed loaded zombie novel. It follows the story of two boys who have encountered zombies in paradise locations. The concept for the zombie’s is interesting starting on a cruise ship now they are loose in Vegas. The boys are great characters easy to connect with I feel like I’ve watched them grow up so much since the first zombies. I like the authors writing style the book just flows from start to finish it was hard to put down because I had to know how it was going to end. Inferno of the Undead is a well written installment in the series, and perfect for those fans of zombie novels. I’m hoping this won’t be the last book in the series because I’m curious to see what happens next with the zombies and if they will really end up blowing up Vegas.
