From New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton, the first in a brand-new romance series telling the humorously sexy tale of Roxie, a private chef who gets a taste of love—but is it to stay, or to go?

After losing almost all of her clients in one fell swoop following an accident involving whipped cream, private chef to Hollywood’s elite Roxie Callahan gets a call from her flighty mother, saying she’s needed home in upstate New York to run the family diner. Once she's back in the Hudson Valley, local organic farmer Leo delivers Roxie a lovely bunch of walnuts, and soon sparks—and clothing—begin to fly. Leo believes that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly…and how! But will Roxie stay upstate, or will the lure of West Coast redemption tempt her back to Tinseltown?

Review
Roxie has worked hard on creating her own successful business but when one night turns into a disaster she loses her clients in just a few phone calls. At her mother’s insistence she agrees to come home to run the dinner so her mom and aunt can compete on the Great Race. After all it’s just the summer a chance to make some extra money and have a chance to figure out what to do now.  As a private chef running the family dinner will be a piece of cake plus maybe a chance to be back home is exactly what she needs.

Roxie never encountered to meet Leo a local organic farmer who makes her pulse race. Determined to not fall in love Roxie is all for a summer fling but when the summer ends she will return to LA with her rich clients and back to her life. The only problem is the more time she spends with Leo the harder she finds herself falling for the guy. When a family secret is unexpectedly reveled how will Roxie who does not want to find love handle it? Will she run for LA or stay to be with the man she loves?

I love Roxie she makes me giggle through the whole story. Her slight obsession with Almonzo Wilder from Little House on the Prairie makes me smile because that’s exactly who I picture Leo looks like. I can honestly say it’s been ages since I’ve read or seen a Little House on the Prairie but I kind of want to now thanks to Roxie. I understand why she is so averse to falling in love but I think Leo is the perfect guy to sway her heart he’s exactly what she needs and her home town needs her cooking.

I picked this one up for my online book club this month. It’s been teasing me on the shelf since it arrived but I had to finish a few before I had the chance to get to it. At last the time arrived when I could start Nuts but the silly holiday keeps getting in the way of my reading but every moment of free time I was reading over the last few days. Nuts is a captivating contemporary romance that is a well written mix of sweet romance and steamy moments. It’s a summer fling between Roxie and Leo so it’s full of sexy moments between the two as well as lots of innuendos but I felt it didn’t ruin but enhanced the story add in a little humor perfectly balanced. I honestly loved the characters both Roxie and Leo are easy to connect with. This is my first book by the author but already I can’t wait for the next Hudson Valley book and I’m going to check out her other books. Highly recommend if you are looking for a Steamy HAE novel.
