Synopsis
Mercy Thompson returns in the seventh novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.
Mercy Thompson’s life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercy’s life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more
After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse can’t reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. They’ve all been abducted.
Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam’s disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from any ally she can get, no matter how unlikely.
Review
Mercy is back again only this time she’s taking Jesse
shopping on the worst day of the year Black Friday. It all starts when they
head to the mall and Jesse asks about Mercy and Adam having a baby which causes
Mercy to wreck her car. When Mercy learns that the pack has been kidnapped she
springs into action putting Jesse in a safe spot and sets out to get them back.
With the help of a broken werewolf half fae and vampire she starts to save her
pack one person at a time. After saving Kyle and setting up a base Mercy is
forced to save Jesse from a pair of fae assassin’s intent on getting ahold of
Mercy.
While Mercy is dealing with her own set of bad guys Adam and
the pack are up against a militia of men who use a drug to keep them down. Adam
learns that the wolves are hostages to force him to kill a senator that will
put the wolves into the spotlight as killers but before this can happen thanks
to Mercy saving Kyle the wolves are released. When the wolves return home they
assume the danger is over but it’s not the easy a sinister plan is lurking and
Mercy will have to stop it before it’s to late.
I think Mercy Thompson is one of the most creative
characters ever created. She’s a coyote in a werewolf world so she needs to be
tough, fight harder and love passionately. When I think of kick-ass-heroines
she’s my top of the list stealing the spot from Anita Blake. It doesn't hurt
that she married Adam if anything it makes her even better in my eyes. I love
the intricate mix of characters that Mercy has connected and formed
relationships with.
I've been dying to read Frost Burned since it first came out
I just didn't get a chance to start it till yesterday. It was a perfect choice
for my scavenger game this week. I've been addicted to werewolves for a while I
just can’t seem to get enough but there is one coyote that has stolen my heart.
I love the world that Mercy lives in with humans among the fae and werewolves,
it makes for an interesting concept. The story-line for Frost Burned is fast
paced full of action, men with guns, fae, werewolves, vampires, a little
romance and one amazing Coyote that stole my heart. I really love this series
it’s one of my favorites it’s one of those series I have a hard time putting
down so I read it in one afternoon. I think the author is a brilliant story
teller because all of her books have been amazing. I think this one is my
favorite because we are introduced to Asil The Moor from the Alpha & Omega
series which I also love. I really enjoyed Asil’s story from the other series
so when he shows up at Mercy’s house I fell in love with him all over again. If
you love werewolves than you’ll love this series as much as I will.
5 out of 5 Stars
There is action, heart, warmth, great human and "other" characters and good story-telling in these books. I hope you enjoy all the books as I have.
