Diary Entry

Diary Update
September 19th 2013

Non-Bookish update
It's almost the weekend. My big puppy is at the vet getting neutered and I'm impatiently waiting for the call to pick him up. I miss the booger he's my shadow, so it's been odd blogging without him. However he's turned into the cuddle bug I've been waiting since day one to be. So excited he loves to hang out on the sofa even if he takes up most of it. I've also been fighting a sinus infection that doesn't seem to want to go away. Stupid being sick I hate it. I'm thinking of making pumpkin muffins tonight or maybe bread, I have a weakness for baking.

Reading -
Cursed by Monica Wolfson (Goodreads) - So far so good really love the idea for this one. I love the beautiful cover for Cursed. Started late last night and hope to get a chance to read today if I can stop worrying about the puppy.

Teaser from Cursed
The shattering of the glass front door over Evan's shoulder jolted her alert as if she had been in a trace. She wasn't finished and didn't direct the blue sparks with any real thought. She just wanted the gun disabled. As if they understood Sasha's thoughts intuitively, the blue sparks surrounded the gun and melted the end of the barrel.
The sparks winked out of existence as fast as they appeared. It happened in the blink of the eye although it seemed longer to sasha. Evan and Sasha didn't hang around, they ran.

Finished
I just finished reading Tied by Laney McMann. Check out my review and interview of the author.

Synopsis

When the world ends, can love survive?

For Scarlet, raising her two daughters alone makes fighting for tomorrow an everyday battle. Nathan has a wife, but can’t remember what it’s like to be in love; only his young daughter Zoe makes coming home worthwhile. Miranda’s biggest concern is whether her new VW Bug is big enough to carry her sister and their boyfriends on a weekend escape from college finals.

When reports of a widespread, deadly “outbreak” begin to surface, these ordinary people face extraordinary circumstances and suddenly their fates are intertwined. Recognizing they can’t outrun the danger, Scarlet, Nathan, and Miranda desperately seek shelter at the same secluded ranch, Red Hill. Emotions run high while old and new relationships are tested in the face of a terrifying enemy—an enemy who no longer remembers what it’s like to be human.

Set against the backdrop of a brilliantly realized apocalyptic world, love somehow finds a way to survive. But what happens when the one you’d die for becomes the one who could destroy you?

Red Hill grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go until its stunning conclusion. This is #1 New York Times bestselling author Jamie McGuire at her unforgettable best.

I guess that's enough rambling for today. Off to see if I can finish my book.
Happy reading!
