Musing Mondays & Manga Monday

Musing Mondays

Created & Hosted by The Purple Booker
Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
I’m currently reading…
Up next I think I’ll read…
I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
I can’t wait to get a copy of…
I wish I could read ___, but…
I blogged about ____ this past week…

This week's question:

I’m currently reading… & I can’t wait to get a copy of…

My Answer:

Since there isn't a new question at the time of writing this post. I decided to go with a couple of the above for fun.

Currently, I'm reading....More Than a Panther by Sara Summers. I've been working my way through the series. I finished the first and rolled right into the 2nd one. I'm really enjoying it so far.

I can't wait to get my hands on Fury of a Phoenix by Shannon Mayer. Still have to wait till July but I think it sounds worth it.

Synopsis
~An electric and gritty first in the series from the indomitable Shannon Mayer. I found myself laughing, and cheering for the sharp tongued, edgy Phoenix as she hunted those who'd destroyed her world~ Reviewer

"I knew the sins of my past would call to collect what was left of my soul. If I’d known the price I’d pay, I would’ve sacrificed more to stay hidden from the magic."

In the middle of Wyoming—away from the abnormals of the world—I thought I was free and clear. I started a new life. Found a love I’d never known in a husband, and a son who was my everything.

And in a blinding instant, that life was stolen from me.

The rage of a grieving mother is an ugly beast. More so when she has the skills and killer instinct to back up the wrath and the knowledge that an accident was anything but.

Once more, I will pick up my guns. This time to hunt those who took my husband’s and son’s lives.

Let them see the assassin, trained to kill abnormals, stalk the shadows again.

Let them see the Phoenix rise from the fragments of a broken life as she burns with a fury that cannot be contained.

Let the killing games begin.

Manga Monday
Created by Alison Can Read
I don't see it as a current weekly on her blog but she does have a great list of manga's that she's read or reading. Be sure to check her out.

I'm not loving any of my manga options. I'm not sure why other than a reading funk.

I'm going to try this one as I'm a huge zombie fan.

Highschool of the Dead by Daisuke Sato, Shouji Sato

Synopsis

Enjoy the first four volumes of Daisuke Sato and Shouji Sato's bestselling Highschool of the Dead series, remastered in full color for this handsome deluxe hardcover edition! A mysterious illness is spreading rapidly through the halls of Fujimi High School. In a matter of hours, the campus is transformed from a place of learning into a hive of nightmares, as the infected students collapse and are reborn as flesh-hungry zombies! Only a handful of students escape the initial outbreak - among them Takashi Komuro and his childhood friend, Rei. He manages to protect Rei from the initial onslaught, but how long can Takashi and the other students hope to survive when the whole school - maybe the whole town - is out for their blood?!

Anyone else reading a Manga this week?

  1. I'm just finishing Fullmetal Alchemist and very much looking for a new manga to read, but I don't think zombies are my thing. :p Could be a lot better in manga form, though. Thanks for sharing!
