Teaser Tuesday!

Teaser Tuesday November 6th 2012

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

~Grab your current read
~Open to a random page
~Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on the page
~BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! ( make sure that what you share doesn't give away to much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
~Share the title & author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!

I'm actually reading a few books at the moment trying something new since I know lots of people read multiples at once.

Teaser #1

A Trace of Moonlight
by Allison Pang

“Great,” I said, images of bridges and billy goats and being pulled into little bits of Ab-B-Que filling my head.
“We’ll be okay. This time of year, they’re following
their herds. Shouldn’t be too hard to avoid them, since they smell like rotting flesh.”
“Herds of what? And ewww.”
“Goats. Duh,” Phineas mumbled crossly, rousing.
“Think maybe you two could shut up for a while?
Some of us would like to get back to sleep.”
I rolled my eyes. “By all means, hornycorn. I need to get out of these clothes anyway. I’m freezing.”
“Hubba hubba.”

Oh how I love this series and Phin is a tough second to my favorite character.

Teaser #2

Dust (Of Dust and Darkness)
by Devon Ashley

I wake up on my stomach gasping. I can't breathe, my inhalation so rough and deep and painful. It takes me a split second to realize the pain i'm feeling isn't because of the water that was in my lungs. It's my wings! It feels as if they've been cruelly ripped from my body. And there's something heavy digging into my back. I reach around and feel something cold: steel. I feel to assess its size and a sharp pain shoots through my spine. I scream with all my might but only a mere whisper makes it past the constricting muscles in my throat. It's not until I finally manage to gasp a deep breath does sound come out and echo though the cold, eerie darkness.

So far I really like this one but I'm not far into it.

What is your teaser this week?
