The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
First off everyone in my house and my loved ones are healthy and enjoying the rainy weather. We've just gotten over the normal flu that's running around the schools. The weather has been all over the place it's pouring down as I sit here writing. My huskymute is also shedding so he looks like a victim of mange. He's not a fan of letting me brush him so I have to do it in sections lol.
My, it's been an interesting year so far. Everyone is in panic mode over the COVID-19 all the schools have closed, people are working from home for the next few weeks but with a warning, this could be more than 8 weeks was the last thing I heard. I'm looking so forward to the massive amount of home school homework that my 4th grader has.
I did some grocery shopping with my partner in crime not shopping for months or weeks like most just stuff for dinner next week. We didn't find cleaning products, toilet paper, paper towels, bottled water, no flour, milk is looking low. The big thing was pasta, rice and meat we noticed seemed to be missing and after 5 stores not going to be an option at this time.
We are in Northern California and our Airforce base is housing all the quarantine people from the cruise ship that was in the bay with COVID-19 that tested possible. We've had a few cases in the area but they aren't testing unless you are on your deathbed, I feel like as soon as we have more test kits we will be seeing more people popping positive and learn that people have had it and gotten over it without all the symptoms.
Haven't done much reading blogging the new expansion of ARK came out and the guys made sure we got a bunch of time in playing. It's been a lot of fun. Looking forward to getting back into reading my TBR pile is huge and now I'm behind on my Goodreads goal eek.

Newly added to my shelves.
Kind of a lot the last few weeks since it's been a while but they all sound amazing. They are all sitting on my coffee table too.
Plus a bunch of freebies with everything going on I've picked up a bunch yesterday.

Yeah, this Coronavirus is insane and the panic it's inciting is even more insane. What worries me about all these shortages on hot commodity necessities is that when the stores finally get more, how many of the people who already have a stock pile go out and buy even more?! I was just reading an article about two guys in Kentucky/Tennessee who apparently did exactly this earlier in the month and then was trying to sell it on Amazon for sky high prices! His "claim" was that in some areas of Kentucky the local Dollar General doesn't have sanitizer, so I'm not sure how he can justify charging 3x (or more) the price of it. The article ended saying he was "looking into ways to donate what he was blocked from selling." This is when people start to show their true colors be they ugly or beautiful. My stepdad's niece was able to get the allotted amount of toilet paper at a Costco and she gave some out to her neighbors who couldn't get any. It's nice to know that we have our good kind people out there amid this chaos!
ReplyDeleteSorry for all that rambling! Lol!
Nice new reads! I really enjoyed All the Stars and Teeth! I hope you will too!
Here's my StS
Have a GREAT day!

We figure a lot of people around here are probably infected without knowing it too since they're only testing under very specific circumstances. There's been evidence of community infection, so you know it has to be going around. Hope you stay healthy after just getting over the flu!

So far testing isn’t an issue here so our known case stats are pretty accurate. The numbers are growing quite quickly though and panic buying is in full swing. We’ll be eating a lot of toast I think after this weeks grocery purchases run out, luckily I do have an inside source for TP right now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those new books.
Wishing you a great reading week and good health.
The panic buying has been insane. It was really hard to find cleaning stuff, dog stuff, and baby stuff. I had to go to a bunch of stores to get what I needed. I hope you have a great week!
