But her father runs their house like an army barracks. and with an alien on the loose, Major Dad isn’t too keen on the idea of Jess going anywhere.

Ever.

So how the heck is she supposed to help the sweetest, strangest, and cutest guy she’s ever met? Hiding him in her room probably isn’t the best idea. Especially since her Dad is in charge of the squadron searching for David.

That doesn’t mean she won’t do it.

It just means she can't get caught. Helping David get home while protecting her heart—that’s gonna be the hard part.

After all, she can't really fall for a guy whose not exactly from here. As they race through the woods with Major Dad and most of the U.S. military one breath behind them, Jess and David grow closer than either of them anticipated. But all is not what it seems. David has a genocide-sized secret, and one betrayal later, they are both in handcuffs as alien warships are positioning themselves around the globe. Time is ticking down to Armageddon, and Jess must think fast if she's to save the boy she cares about without sacrificing Earth—and everyone on it.

FIRE IN THE WOODS is Star-Crossed meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind!

Review
Jess dreams of being a professional photographer but he dad is less than thrilled by the prospect. When a plane crashes in the woods near the base he tells her to stay home but how can she miss the chance to get the shot so she sneaks out. It’s when she sneaks out that she encounters her perfect guy who has all the celebrity features she likes. But there is something different about him but she’s not sure what exactly. When he finds her in his home it’s clear to Jess that maybe he’s not the human guy she first thought but something out of this world. As the truth comes out it’s clear that David isn’t human and he needs help getting to the retrieval place and Jess is the only one who can help him.

Knowing she will upset her father Jess takes the risk and flee’s the base barely escaping with David who they are already hunting for. The pair travel in her friend’s car but are forced to ditch is when they are caught by the military police. Running into the woods they barely escape but things are far from over. It’s clear the Jess that David knows more than he is letting on but she knows she can trust him. Will they get him back to the retrieval zone in time before it’s too late? What about the secret that he’s hiding from her? What about the feelings Jess has growing the more time she spends with David?

I liked Jess as a character she’s a good person with a good heart will to help David even if it was dangerous. I also really liked David for Jess after all he looks just like her dream guy but he’s not a bad guy at all. I really found their relationship sweet starting out as just helping someone who needed help to falling in love. I really found the chemistry between the two works really well, it wasn’t insta love but it did happen fast but it worked.

I’ve had this one on my kindle for a while but decided I had to have the paperback it was to pretty not to add to my collection. I wasn’t sure what to expect really because it’s been a while since I read the synopsis other than an alien romance. Fire in the Woods is one of those books that grabs you by the first page and doesn’t let go till the very end. I found the story fresh and exciting the concept is captivating and I enjoyed every minute of the book.  I really enjoyed the authors writing style it was fun, well written and flow smoothly it was easy to get lost. The characters are well written I found it easy to connect with Jess and David they quickly stole a spot in my heart.  This is my first book by the author but I’m a huge fan of her story telling it’s a beautifully written book and I can’t wait to read the next one. I haven’t read a lot of alien books but this is my new favorite. A must for any Sci fi romance fans. On a side not the base where this all takes place happens to be a base we could end up at on the off chance. I wonder if I will find David and Jess hanging around. Just to recap I loved Fire in the Woods.
