Synopsis
If I tell you right up front, right in the beginning that I lost him, it will be easier for you to bear. You will know it’s coming, and it will hurt. But you’ll be able to prepare.

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him Baby Moses when they shared his story on the ten o’clock news – the little baby left in a basket at a dingy Laundromat, born to a crack addict and expected to have all sorts of problems. I imagined the crack baby, Moses, having a giant crack that ran down his body, like he’d been broken at birth. I knew that wasn’t what the term meant, but the image stuck in my mind. Maybe the fact that he was broken drew me to him from the start.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn’t stay away.

Review
Everyone knew about Moses he was the baby found in a basket at the laundry mat named after Moses the child of a drug addict. His story was big news even though it happened before Georgia was born she knew about him everyone did. He was bounced from family member to family member finally ending up with his grandmother the summer before his senior year. Hoping to help Moses his grandmother get’s him working with the neighbors who work with horses and people for therapy. The horses don’t seem a huge fan of Moses maybe they sense something different about him which is true. Georgia finds herself attracted to the beautiful stranger quickly forcing her way into his life.

Moses doesn’t love so even though he’s attracted to Georgia he’s not falling for her it doesn’t work that way. He has issues it wouldn’t work out besides being cracked has given him the gift of being able to see the ghosts of those who have passed on. When he starts painting the pictures of girls who go missing they local sheriff starts to question why he’s painting the missing girls. After his grandmother passes away he ends up in the hospital where he meets Tag the brother of one of the dead girls. The more time he spends in the hospital does he let people see what he has the ability to do and when he’s released he and Tag travel the world together looking after each other.  When Moses returns home he learns the truth of what happened to Georgia and it will change his life forever.

Right away I knew I had to like Georgia she’s a girl after my own heart her love of horse just made me lover her more. My heart went out to Moses right away he’s just a unique guy with a special gift that he hadn’t figure out how to use till after he met Tag. I really love that even if Moses wasn’t willing to accept he was in love with Georgia she wasn’t willing to just give up on him and kept trying to see him even if he didn’t want to see her. Things changed in her life so she gave up but fate brought them back together  re-kindling what they had.

I picked up the Law of Moses a while back with every intention of reading it but never seemed to get around to it yet. When I found a buddy read for it I decided it was the perfect time to read it with a new friend. I’m a sucker for broken people finding each other and a huge fan of HAE stories. However The Law of Moses while happy is very tragic and emotional the story played with my heartstrings bringing an array of emotions throughout the book. While I enjoyed the romance between our two broken lovers the hidden mystery woven around their lives was a nice touch. The Law of Moses is a fast paced novel finished it almost in one day if only I could have kept my eyes open a little more. This is my first book by the author and I’m blown away by how beautiful her writing style is it just captures the heart as well as the imagination. While this is my first book by the author I know it won’t be the last after all I can’t wait to read the next one that tells the story of Tag.
