Synopsis
Tessa McCaide has a unique talent for getting into trouble. Then again, it isn’t easy for a girl with visions to ignore what she sees. Luckily Tessa and her family are leaving California and moving halfway across the country, giving her the perfect opportunity to leave her reputation as “Freaky Tessa” behind.

But Tessa doesn’t realize that kissing the wrong guy in her new Texas town could land her in far more trouble than she ever imagined. Like being forced to attend St. Ailbe’s Academy, a secret boarding school for werewolves.

Even if the wrong guy did accidentally turn her into one of “them” and doom her to attending the weirdest high school ever, Tessa can’t help her growing attraction to the mysterious Dastien Laurent.

When vampires attack St. Alibe’s and her visions pinpoint an enemy in their midst, Tessa realizes that boy drama and her newfound canine tendencies might just be the least of her problems.

Review
I received Becoming Alpha in return for an honest review longer than I care to admit. Tessa already has issues when she has contact she gets visions so she’s forced to wear gloves and it’s caused her to alienate from friends. Her family has moved to Texas giving her a new chance at to not be the odd girl. However at her first party with her new friends Tessa kisses the wrong guy. At the time she had no idea that a bite and scratch from a cute guy would change her life forever. Sending her to a new school with students who transform into werewolves which is what she now is. Tessa may now be a half werewolf and half witch but that doesn’t mean she’s going to accept it right away.

Tessa isn’t thrilled with her new life but it does have the perks of friends she’s never had before as well as the attractive guy who happened to change her. If only his ex-girlfriend wasn’t hanging waiting around intent on making him hers again. Learning to control her new ability as a shifter shouldn’t be too hard, at a school full of werewolves but Tessa refuses to shift. Vampires are moving into their territory and a sinister plan is unfolding that could change all of their worlds in a reveal to the humans who know nothing of supernatural world. Will Tessa be able to control her wolf? Figure out what is going on with Dastien?

I really liked Tessa she’s so innocent having never even been kissed before being transformed into a werewolf but the attractive Dastien. At least if she has to be connected to a guy for the rest of her life he seems to be worth all the trouble. I think Dastien is just what Tessa needs to pull her out of the shell she’s been living in and giving her the friends she so desperately needed. I’m curious to see how it will play out in the next book now that they have accepted the connection between the two.

This one has been sitting on my kindle far too long and I can’t believe I waited so long to venture into Tressa’s world because it’s great. I’m such a fan of werewolves stories you would think this would have gotten read right away. Thankfully I did at last it worked for my reading challenge and I was able to give it a shot and it’s so worth it. While the werewolf vampire concept isn’t new the author has added her own unique spin creating a captivating story. I really like how the vampires aren’t portrayed in a positive light as the typical handsome vampires but of the classic truly hideous bloodsuckers. I really enjoyed the authors writing style the story just flows from start to finish, it was easy to lose all track of time while reading. This is my first book by the author but I already know it won’t be my last I have the next couple of books in the series on my kindle.
