Synopsis
18 year old Sophie Jean is pretty good at acting normal. Sure, she’s not exactly happy, but happiness is nothing compared to being like everyone else. She can pretend she’s not allergic to the sun. Review
I received Sunshine in return for an honest review from the
author. Sophie isn't your typical teenager but you wouldn't know that to look
at her. She may not have known her birth father but she has an amazing step dad
who’s always been there for her, even if her mom is a little insane. Sophie doesn't trust many people so when something terrible happens she hides the
truth from everyone even her family. Sophie has worked hard to appear normal
keeping her secrets to herself not letting anyone in until Myles shows up.
The new boy at school has taken an interest in Sophie. That she can’t avoid
because her two best friends are pushing them together. They will form a unique
relationship built on trust yet each hides a dark secret from the other. As
fate has it after an ugly fight with her mother Sophie moves in with her older
brother and his boyfriend giving her the much needed space. Now on her own Sophie
has the chance to be happy even if she still keeps her secret that she fears
will drive Myles off locked away. When suddenly her secret is revealed will
Myles run, will the new danger looming be too much? Will the band make it to
New York?
Sunshine is a captivating story that draws the reader in
right from the start and doesn't let go till the end. I really loved Sophie she’s
had so much bad in her life she deserves to have someone to love and be loved.
I think Myles is perfect for her in every way, plus he’s a vampire what’s not
to love. However this story isn't your typical vampire story because Sophie is not a damsel in distress. The book has some great supporting characters which I
feel enhance the story. Granted her life has been darker than most teens I
think she handles is exceptionally well and reading her story has been
riveting. Truly a book I couldn't put down, I just had to know what was going
to happen next and how the story would end. The author does an amazing job of
telling a story full of twists and surprises that leave you guessing.
