From the day of their debut, when Matilda smoked a cheroot and Margo tied a cherry stem in a knot with her tongue, the Halifax twins have flouted convention at every turn. But when Matilda runs off with the dangerous Marquess of Ashford - who has every reason to hate her - she may have gone a bit too far.
Determined to stop Matilda's inexplicable elopement, her sister Margo turns to her oldest friend for because if anyone can get her to Scotland in time, it's starchy solicitor Henry Mortimer. But the road to Scotland is paved with secrets. Beneath his buttoned-up exterior, Henry is ardently, wildly, miserably in love with Margo. And Matilda and Ashford's relationship too may not be quite what it seems.
Between salacious engravings, secret identities, and demanding feral cats, nothing about the journey goes as planned. With the Halifax Hellions at the reins, a week in a carriage is exactly enough time to turn the world upside down . . . and, perhaps, find the love stories they never expected.
For the first time ever in print, The Halifax Hellions brings together Margo and Matilda's novellas, along with a swoony new epilogue.
My Review
I received The Halifax Hellions in return for an honest review from St. Martins Press.
This is Margo and Matilad's story two very scandalous sisters who find love when least expected. Their stories are interconnected and I devoured them both in one afternoon. I spent the whole book giggling and cheering these girls on as they adventure around the country. I think Margo was my favorite but Matilda's just as amazing.
I was hooked right from the start with Margo's story and didn't stop till I had finished both. The characters are easy to connect with you can't help cheering them on. Even the men are swoon worthy in all the right ways. Henry was my favorite because he was head over heels for Margo and went along with her plans.
The cover is as adorable as the story, it's a quick sweet yet spicy romance that is perfect if your craving a story that will capture your heart as well as your imagination. This is my first book by the author and I loved every minute of it. I'm a little hooked now and I need more. I loved our girls with there swoon worthy men. I'm looking forward to reading more book by the author. Highly recommend if you enjoy historical romance.
