The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Happy Sunday!
It's been a great week. My little one was on spring break while my older one was back in school. Of course, they couldn't both be on it at the same time but we made the best of it. We've had mixed weather some days it's rainy and cold, others it's beautiful and sunny. All the rain is flooding my veggie garden, but hopefully, we are headed into a warm summer.

I'm not surprised to admit that I didn't get much reading done this week, but with the kids home I didn't expect to get a lot. I do hope that with the new week of the kids back in school, and my husband out of town I can make some headway on my pile. I've gotten way behind but hopefully, the next week and the new month will give me a chance to catch up.

At long last, my new phone arrived. No more Note 5, as much as I'm sad to see it go so far I like the S8. The camera is nice. I took a couple of pictures to compare.

Currently 53 of 250 and 20 books behind which keeps growing.

Fun posts you may have missed at TRD this week.

Crafty projects & Baking/cooking & Gardening.

I worked on my scarf it's slow going but I figure a few rows a day and eventually, I'll get there. I'm already reading for a new stitch.

I also worked on my mermaid tail for my daughter. It's also slow going but getting there. Hope to finish it this week. I need work on it while listening to audio books. You can see my sweet hound dog all snuggled up while I add a few rows.

I didn't get a lot of baking this week which is good because I'm trying to keep it to a minimal. I made a honey, dark chocolate banana bread. It was ok nothing special.
We also had breakfast burritos for dinner on taco Tuesday. Decided to stick with the weekly theme but changed it up. This week we are having chicken tacos.
Also made a batch of peanutbutter brownies in attempt to make sure the recipe worked for my husbands upcoming trip.

Took a few cute puppy pictures this week. They are such goobers but I love them.

Fitness
I hit my goal of 10k each day for the last week. Granted it went down a little but with the kids, and being sick it wasn't very successful. I'm hoping to get back at my 5-mile mornings.

  2. Grats on the new phone! Seems like a brighter camera, which is always good.
6 books this week! Wow. I haven't read any last week -.- kept having to work overtime, gah. But I finally reviewed The Radium Girls! It's definitely worth to check out, you can find the link in my Sunday post if you're curious. It's an important topic, in my opinion. Such a touchie too.
P.S. Nice scarves and hats! Love the colorful yarn.

  6. YOu can definitely tell the difference in the pictures! That is always a pain when spring breaks don't coincide. I have teacher friends who have the problem because they teach in a different school district than where they live. Hope you have a great week coming up!
    Check out my Sunday Post

  7. Wow. That's quite a difference in photos. Looks like you got the good one. It figures that their breaks don't happen at the same time. Sounds like your weather is the same way. Cute pup pics. I take so many of my dog. And nice books this week:)
