“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb,” she murmured. The word was like another electric jolt to my system.
I tried to cover my reaction. “What a stupid lamb.”
She sighed. “What a sick, masochistic lion.”

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb…,” he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
“What a stupid lamb,” I sighed.

“What a sick, masochistic lion.” He stared into the shadowy forest for a long moment, and I wondered where his thoughts had taken him.

Review
Beau has decided it’s time to move in with Charlie in order to give his mom a chance to live with her new husband. He’s spent most of his life being the parent due to his mom’s free spirit personality and this will be the chance for both of them to learn to live without each other.  Beau isn’t graceful on his feet instantly making enemy’s in the airport thanks to his dad showing up it didn’t get worse. On his first day of school Beau instantly draws attention from McKayla Newton a friendly girl but it’s Edythe Cullen in the lunch room who captures his attention. However his first time seeing her she look at him with the death stare, fleeing at the first chance even trying to change classes to get away from him.

When she doesn’t show the next day he thinks it’s because of him but as he makes friends with McKayla’s friends starting to settle in to a routine she returns. Dreading class with Edythe after his last experience Beau is shocked when she’s not what he expected. The unlikely connection has been formed and neither can deny the attraction between them but Edythe continues to fight because of what she is. It’s just too hard to stay away and giving into the feelings may be the only option. Will Beau figure out what she really is and how will he feel when he learns that spending time with Edythe could be shorting his life?

I love Edythe she’s exactly how I would picture a female Edward and it works well. However I didn’t love Beau I think it’s because a whinny guy is kind of a turn off. It’s been a long time since I read the original but the whinny works better on Bella than Beau. I didn’t hate him he just kind of bugged me a little but with Edythe at his side it works. Opposites do attract.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read Twilight the original book but I do remember like 99% of the story because I’ve read it several times over the last ten years. I enjoyed seeing a new spin on the classic story that I love it was interesting seeing Edythe and Beau. Life and Death was hard to put down I wanted to see what would happen next even though I knew how the story would play out. Granted I didn’t love Beau I still loved the story. Since the book follows the traditional story I did have a few parts that made me giggle like with Beau gets a piggy back ride from Edythe. I also love how my favorite lines are still in the book from the original. Honestly I loved the whole book it was beautifully written and captivating from start to finish. I enjoyed seeing a new spin in a world that I loved so much. As a ten year anniversary special book it’s a perfect edition to the series. I kind of feel like I would love to see how the series played out because I know a few things wouldn’t be the same in Beau and Edythe’s story like they did in Bella and Edwards.
