Synopsis

"Whatever you do, fight."

Sophia's family has skeletons, but they aren't in their graves.

At twenty-two, practicing Wiccan Sophia Parsons is scratching out a living waiting tables in her Rocky Mountain hometown, a pariah after a string of unsolved murders with only one thing in common: her.

Sophia can imagine lots of ways to improve her life, but she'd settle for just getting rid of the buzzing noise in her head. When the spell she casts goes wrong, the static turns into voices. Her personal demons get company, and the newcomers are dangerous.

One of them is a man named Charles, who Sophia falls for despite her better judgment. He has connections that might help her unveil the mystery surrounding her ancestor's hanging, but she gets more than she bargains for when she finally decides to trust him.

Survival in his world, she learns, means not asking questions and staying out of the immortal council's way. It's a line she crossed long ago. If Sophia wants to survive the council and save the people she loves, she must accept who she is, perform dark magic, and fight to the death for her freedom.

The Forever Girl is a full-length Paranormal Fantasy novel that will appeal to lovers of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, witches, vampire fiction, ghost stories, paranormal mystery, and paranormal horror.

Review

I received The Forever Girl in return for a honest review as part of the tour hosted by Dark World Books. Sophia is a wiccan which in her rocky mountain hometown makes her different. So of course when mystical things happen she’s the first one questioned.  However it’s not till she casts a positive energy spell that her life starts to spiral out of control. Suddenly Sophia can hear strange voices in her head. She’s finding out her best friend is an elemental and that vampires are supposed to protect the humans but it’s not working that way. She’s even caught the attention of a vampire who’s taken an interest in her and not in a good way.

Sophia is thrust into a world she doesn’t know existed with her friends and the new half breed stranger to help her. Together they will fight against the council, testing all of them even forcing Sophia to use the dark magic she’s spent her whole life avoiding. Thankfully she’s not going at it alone, she has the man she loves and her best friend but is that enough?

I’ve been seeing The Forever Girl for a while before happening across a tour. I love the cover it’s one of my favorites. I found the story well written it flows along from start to finish creating a captivating world filled with mystery and intrigue. I think the author does a fantastic job of creating a world that Sophia is living in filled with paranormal beings. She also creates a unique story about vampires which I really enjoyed.   The Forever Girl is filled with twists that keep the reader guessing. Sophia for me was easy to connect with she’s one of those characters you can’t help cheering for till the very end. She’s a strong character which is what I tend to look for. It’s a great start to a series that stole my heart and ended up being one of my new favorites. I’m looking forward to more books in the series.

5 out of 5 stars
