Seattle’s demons are scared and wreaking havoc in the rainy city. They’ve burned their way through the Seattle underground, threatened to topple the Space Needle, and sent a twenty foot statue rampaging downtown.

It’s up to Nathaniel Grimlock, the teenage Demonkeeper, to control them, but when he discovers what’s stirring them up—a legendary monster known as the Demoneater—he finds that he’s in over his head yet again!

Review

I also received book two in return for a honest review from the authors publicist. In book two Nat has taken Richie on as his own apprentice letting him live in the house. Nat is also still dating Sandy, who the house happens to like it seems better then Nat since it lets her in when she stops by. A troll statue is missing from Seattle and other demons are starting to turn up missing. The city is offering a reward for the return of the Troll statue, which I really a troll. With the help of the demons the trio uses goats in attempt over a bridge in attempt to draw out the troll.

Nat meets Lilli who is also a Demonkeeper who has a collection of demons she keeps in her trailer. Lilli goes to Pikes Market and when she comes out she finds her demons all gone so she goes to Nat for help.  Nat lives in a house full of demons, like the gum demon who likes to get stuck in hair, the chandelier, the carpet and many more.

So Nat sets out to figure out where the missing Demons have gone, as well as find what happened to the troll. As if he’s not got enough to do, he also needs to catch the “Thin man’s” demons that are returning to what they once had been prior to the “Thin Man”. Lilli is really upset about her missing demons, and afraid that the demoneater is going to eat them. There is a strange man who always happens to be hanging around when something supernatural is in the air. Nat has his hands full, but with his friends he should be able to save the day.

I really liked book to better then book one because I was already familiar with the characters and felt like it flowed a lot smoother. It’s such a fast pasted story like the first one no so much gory like the first either, I found this one had a few comical moments like the first; I had to lean over and tell the hubby what I was giggling about. I really like the Sandy and Nat relationship they both are unique in their own but they make it work. In book 2 Nat has taken Richie under his wing to train him to be a demonkeeper too which I really liked since I kind of felt bad since he lost his friend.  Overall it’s a great story you learn a little more about the demons around the world that not all are bad they are more chaos in the world or that they create chaos. I look forward to starting the next one.

Teaser about the chaos of the demons in the world.

The light of day brought no comfort to the playful beer demons of McHale’s Irish Pub on the Seattle waterfront. The tavern was closed in the mornings, and the small wormlike creatures could usually splash freely about in scattered half-full glasses and openly frolic across the sticky, well-worn tables before the cleaners came and they had to squeeze themselves back into the kegs to hide.

The worms were not a malicious sort of demon. The fun-loving little chaotic entities swam in the pints at night when the place was loud and packed with humans, sliding unnoticed down the throats of merrymaking patrons and wiggling their way to their brains to disorient them for a few hours. A bit of sport and then they slipped out as discretely as they had snuck in, leaving their human host no worse for wear, though they sometimes left behind a dull ache in the head where they had lodged themselves if silly or especially thirsty humans crowded too many of the happy squigglers into their heads too tightly.
