Review

I received this book for review from the wife of the author in return for a honest review.  Jack is your typical different kid growing in a school where he is expected to be just like everyone else but he's not, he's like his father full of dreams. He gets picked on by the guys at school, they torment him and the girl he likes is trying to be popular even if it also means being cruel to Jack. One day at his mom's work he finds a dirty teddy bear his mom's boss tells him to leave it in the lost and found for a week if not claimed he can have it. However Jack thinks the bear is more than just a teddy bear and can't seem to leave it alone, he gets caught with the little guy several times by the son of his mother’s boss. Jack learns that Takota can communicate with other animal, that’s why they can understand each other. His friend Amelia knows right away there is something special about Takota and joins Jack to help get them away from Savage the man they are running from.

Takota, escapes from a evil man who wants to control the Tanakee by putting chips in their heads to create a army. He winds up in a grocery store and pretends to be a stuffed bear during the days. He happens to find others in his Tanakee tribe members who have been hiding out in the grocery store for over ten months. As fate would have it the Savage the evil guy finds them and the kids have to sneak them out of the store to save them pretending they are just teddy bears. Once they get the Tanakee out of the store they head to find Jack's dad who has created a device that will help them.

A fast paced high speed adventure that pulls you in right from the start and keeps you wanting more till the end. I started this yesterday night but didn't get as far and since I had to get up early had to force myself to put it down. As soon as I could I started it again and didn't put it down till I was done. Such a entertaining read, I had an easy time relating to the characters because they don't seem like ten year old kids so it makes it easy for someone older to enjoy the book. I really love the whole concept of the Tanakee I think it's a very clever idea something you don't see every day. I felt that the characters are well written giving you a great idea who they are.  I like all the fantasy aspects, that they even have big foot in the story. The descriptions of the Tanakee are really great I feel like I can picture each one down to the little lines under their eyes. It's a great book I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a interest in fantasy. I think it's a book that is open to all age’s not just middle school age. I really loved it!!!!!

A teaser I liked in the book it made me smile.
"What is that thing?"
"Hey, that's one of the animals the chief was talking about!"
"That? That can't be dangerous. Look at him. He's too cute to be dangerous."
Pud lifted his shoulders, took a deep breath, and let out a roar so loud it pushed each officer back a few inches. They stopped laughing and gave each other wide eyes.
