The Sunday Post

  The Sunday Post
Hosted by:
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

This week the weather has been all over the place, it just can't seem to figure out what it wants to do. We had days almost 80's bright sunny beautiful and days of cold rain. Of course the days I want to run out its  raining seems to be my luck. The munchkin had school this week so our mornings are filled with online school.

For the most part it's been a quiet week with school, work, reading, binge watching and just hanging out around the house. Here in California they have started to open up the bay area but our numbers are to high still so we are in lockdown. I feel like we are always in lockdown, and it blows my mind how many places are still open and people are about when we are not supposed to be leaving but for essential stuff. Hopefully, things will start getting better.

New books

I picked up a bunch of pretty covers this week.

Challenge Update
I'm currently 5 of 250 almost done with my 6th.

Baking

Yesterday was National Pie day so of course I had to make a pie. Opted for a easy but very tasty Banoffee Pie. This one has a cookie crust with bananas, dulce de leche, homemade whip cream and shaved chocolate. So yummy it's one of my favorites thanks to my good friend Victoria it's an English Dessert.

Binge Watching
This week I'm watching Mrs. Browns Boys on Brit Box on amazon. It's been recommended to me a bunch of times by my dad to check it out. Izzy doesn't get the comedy so I've been watching it on my own.
Winx Saga is on my list for the week I hope to binge it today as I remember watching the cartoon with the munchkin.

  1. The pie looks delicious. Sadly people don't follow lockdown guidelines. Let's hope the vaccines roll out faster.

That pie looks yummy. My husband wanted cake this afternoon and the good little wify that I am, I baked him one. He bought me some books on my kindle. Good trade!

  4. Well at least if you don't like the weather it is changing. We just stay home as much as possible, and get deliveries. If people did that and wore masks, and distanced, I think this would be ending much more quickly. Stay well! Happy reading!

  5. It's pretty disheartening to try to follow the rules and do the right when so many others flaunt the guidelines and decide to carry on as usual. Making this thing last even longer. *sigh* Your pie looks amazing! And those Bernie memes are so funny.

  6. Okay the Bernie meme cracked me up! That might be my favorite of all the ones I've seen. We are somewhat open here but there is distancing and masks are required. Of course there's all the people wearing them under their nose which isn't so much helpful. School is transitioning back to full in person though my son is homeschooled and medically vulnerable so things haven't changed too much for us. I keep thinking about getting BritBox on Amazon but haven't caved yet. I may have to soon. There are so many great shows on it! Hope you're having a great week!
