The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
Another week of Quarantine down. Tomorrow makes week 5 I feel like this is just never going to end. The weather is starting to get nice and being inside makes me feel like I'm missing the beautiful spring. It's been a mix of 50's to 70s depending on the day the weather has been all over but I love it just wish we could be out in it.

This past week has been a lot of time inside with the munchkin and thankfully we are going into spring break so no school this week. I'm glad we don't have to do the schoolwork battle. The munchkin doesn't love her teacher this year which has just ruined 4th grade and having to push with the school work things are rough. At least we are almost done with the year, and hopefully, next year will be better. At least we aren't going at it alone we are still gettings some physical conversation with our besties our neighbor. I think I would be lost without our daily conversations.

I watched the Tiger King with my bestie. He and I are about 400 miles apart he's living with brother and helping his family out. So lots of video chats, gaming together and phone calls. I knew a lot about the story behind Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin so it was interesting to see how it all played out. I'm conflicted thanks to Netflix how I feel about things with Joe I'm all confused and maybe he's not the bad guy I thought he was. Yea he did stuff wrong, screwed up but no one is perfect. I feel like he was set up and Jeff took advantage and stole the zoo and set him up. I hope they get Jeff and thanks to so much attention maybe it will change how exotic animals are taken care of.

I also made the coffee on TikTok that everyone is freaking out about. A Whipped Coffee (Dalgona Coffee) I whipped the coffee with my hand mixer and added almond milk. It was ok nothing amazing and I don't think I will be making it again.

Read the last week
I haven't done a lot of reading this week. I've been trying to keep the munchkin busy she's so lonely and bored. Lots of TV shows, movies, and projects. I do plan to read a lot more this week need to start knocking off the list.

Posts you may have missed

Newly added to my shelves.
I picked up a bunch of freebies but I haven't purchased many this week. I have a bunch on my wishlist that I'm kind of debating so maybe next week, I'll have some to share. Not shopping online or hitting bookstores is making things a little rough.

Baking
I made a caramel banana bread this week. It was super yummy with a little bit of ice cream it even made a sweet dessert. The munchkin loved it so I call that a success. This week another banana bread but I think it's going to be butterscotch something. Going to make Yorkshire puddings and scores this week. I may tackle a tropical cheesecake cake that I want to attempt. We will see.

Funny for the week

  2. I haven't watched the Tiger King... I feel left out of the meme loop! The name the 50 states is funny..sadly a lot of American's can't locate them all. It was drilled into my head as a kid.🤣your baking pics on Facebook always make me hungry. Be safe, be happy and happy reading!

  3. I made mini cheesecakes to amuse us this week. The days are kind of running together. I am keeping track of COYER which is always fun. I'm reading but so moody.

Have a healthy, safe week! Happy Easter!

  4. It’s tough to keep the little entertained at home, sounds like you are doing your best, which is all you can do.

Your caramel bananac cake looks yummy. I’m making myself a lemon cheesecake for my birthday today :)

Wishing you a great reading week and good health

  5. We started with distant learning today and I can already see it's going to be a challenge. Today has been such a fight to motivate her. Add to that both my husband and I have to work, which limits the time we can spend helping her. We'll figure it out. We're still in the beginning stages. Caramel banana bread sounds so good! I hope you have a good week. Stay safe and well.
