The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Another week of Quarantine down in the books. The weather has been a mix of perfect warm with a breeze perfect for a day in the sun. We've also had cold days where I needed a jacket to get my daily Vitamin D. I'm loving the warm weather but not looking forward to triple-digit days. I suspect we will be going into a beautiful summer without any time outside.

This week we had spring break so no school for the munchkin so it was finding things to do to keep her busy which is getting harder and harder each day. My bestie who lives across the street that I've not been social distancing with are planning on redoing my front yard with all the free time we have. I've not got a green thumb but hopefully, we can do something that won't die. Going to have to mask up and run to Lowes one of these mornings.

Otherwise, it's been just another quiet week lots of video chats, tea and cake across the street we both are into baking. I've done a little bit of baking this week but have more on the list. I made bread this last week, as well as a cake and banana bread.

Read the last week
Not as much reading as I would have liked to but keeping the munchkin busy has cut into my reading. Thankfully back to school so I can read more this week. I'm almost done with Queen take King by Joely Sue Burkhart.

Newly added to my shelves.
I picked up a bunch of freebies and a few anthologies this week. I'm kind of an addict for the anthologies that are limited time.

Baking
I'm kind of on a baking kick this week.

I forgot to run the knife over the top of the bread but it tastes amazing. I'm going to bake it again today. This is the recipe it only takes an hour start to finish. (here)

I made butterscotch banana bread from scratch this week also. It was super yummy.

And last but not least in any way I made a cake from my Try It Tuesday post. This is my twist on a pina colada cake. It was very tasty and I loved the pineapple sponge.

Funny for the week
I think this one is a good reminder for all of us.

I'm still an Instagram addict you should check it out lots of fun!!!

  1. I've backed a bit more. I made mini cheesecakes which I served with either fresh raspberries or strawberries. Then I made chocolate chip cookies with dark chocolate chips. I forgot to adjust for the gluten free flour so they were flat and practically dripping with butter, but they tasted delicious. lol

I planted a garden in phases and that's going ok.

Stay safe and have a great week! Happy reading!

  2. I still can’t get flour which is annoying especially since I got a proper mixer for my birthday and will no longer have to knead by hand!

Wishing you a great reading week and good health

  3. Good luck with keeping the kid entertained! I really want to bake because I have time now, but I’m trying really hard not to overeat. I hope you’re having a good week!
