The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Happy Sunday Funday!
The weather has been beautiful recently. Some days it shorts weather warm enough to turn on the AC but other days I can leave the windows open and the house stays cool. I kind of love California weather it likes to flip based on the day. I wish we would have a few more rainy days but doesn't look like it's going to be an option.
It's been a quiet week which is unusual in my house. I've been on a video game break the last week which has been a nice break. I've been doing a bunch of reading as well as binge watching of a few shows. I have a bunch of crafty projects that I need to get started on but I still have some planning to figure out.

Husband and I had a fun day date to see the new Deadpool 2 movie which was amazing. We decided to give the teenager a chance at watching the little one. They had lots of fun and we now know we can leave the kids together without them burning down the house. I'm the kind of movie girl who likes to show up early and we only do the reclining seat theaters so I had about 20 minutes before the movie started to do some reading.

I'm still working on my current read....
I've been kind of all over when it comes to reading.I don't often read more than one book at a time but now I've become kind of addicted to it.
So right now I'm working my way through A Court of Thorns and Roses as my bestie says it's time for me to get current. I decided it deserving of a re-read so started at the beginning. I also have Moon Kissed by Jennifer Snyder on the kindle paperwhite that I've been reading in bed. No nifty pictures from Instagram for that one yet...I should take one though.
I've become hooked on this Manga Say I Love You. Typically I tend to stay closer to the horror monster genre when it comes to Manga but that seems to have changed with this one. I'm also reading a Godzilla comic as I'm a huge fan of the king of monsters.

What you may have missed the past week

Crafty projects & Baking/cooking & Gardening
I made Blueberry and cranberry sourdough bread this week. It's amazing toasted in the toaster with just a little butter. I've almost tweaked this recipe it's getting to the point that I think it's about ready to share. I'm still playing with it but once I have it for sure I'll be able to share. I grew my own starter as well for the sourdough and while it's kind of taken over my kitchen I think I've figured out how often to bake so it doesn't.

I haven't been crafty this week but I need to change that. I need to finish up a baby blanket and start another. I also need to make a few bags this week since I picked up some beautiful fabric. This week I hope to be more crafty.

Quote/ fun stuff
I picked a bookish quote which I love.

What I've been watching recently....
I just started season 7 of Supernatural it's still one of my favorite shows. I'm hoping to get at least 7 and maybe 8 done this week. So many new Netflix shows but I need to do this one first.

  1. I hope you LOVE Curiouser and Curiouser and Wolves and Daggers. I loved them. She also has a beauty and the beast retelling that was so well done and different.

I have a long way before I can leave my two alone without burning down the house but we have someone who can watch them if we need it.

I hope you have a wonderful week, Mandy! Happy Reading! ox

  3. The movie sounds fun and I love the reclining seats too. My son always worries I'll fall asleep. Silly young man! He should know by now I don't blink during the movie so I won't miss anything. LOL You have some wonderful new reads. I enjoy Melanie's books also. And that bread looks yummy:)

  4. I’m glad the kids didn’t burn down the house and you got to see a movie. I’ve never been to a reclining seat theater. That would be awesome. Have a good week!
