Synopsis:
The girl knows she’s different. She doesn’t age. She has no family. She has visions of a past life, but no clear clues as to what she is, or where she comes from. But there is a face in her dreams – a light that breaks through the darkness. She knows his name is Gabriel.
On her way home from work, the girl encounters an injured stranger whose name is Jonah. Soon, she will understand that Jonah belongs to a generation of Vampires that serve even darker forces. Jonah and the few like him, are fighting with help from an unlikely ally – a rogue Angel, named Gabriel.
In the crossfire between good and evil, love and hate, and life and death, the girl learns her name: Lailah. But when the lines between black and white begin to blur, where in the spectrum will she find her place? And with whom?
Gabriel and Jonah both want to protect her. But Lailah will have to fight her own battle to find out who she truly is.
I received Lailah in return for an honest review as part of the tour hosted by FFBC. Lailah doesn’t know her past she just knows that she doesn’t age that she’s haunted by a handsome stranger and that vampires exist. After work one night Lailah currently going as Francesca finds an injured vampire who she takes to her home and even gives him blood of to save him. Little did she know at the time this encounter would change her life forever sending her on the run to stay alive. She meets Gabriel the guy from her dreams who’s she has a connection with as well as a few other vampires who aren’t connected to their creators.
Staying with the vampires and Gabriel quickly comes to an end when they split up hoping to find out who Lailah is and why the pureblood vampires want her. Only Gabriel knows her secret that she’s immortal and can heal her injuries quickly. While he’s gone she stays with three of the vampires that have broken their bonds with their creators remaining in hiding. Lailah is torn between Gabriel and Jonah one of light and the other dark they each call to her but who will be the one to capture her heart. Will she be able to survive the Purebloods chasing her?
I really like Lailah as a character as the story progressed she continued to get better as she grew into this bad ass character. I wanted to dislike Jonah because Gabriel was just the right choice for Lailah after all they knew each other in the past. As the story progressed I grew to respect the vampires each with their own sad story. It’s a unique love triangle which I tend to avoid but I think it’s done well.
I knew from seeing the cover I had to read Lailah it’s stunning so of course I signed up for the tour. I’m not huge on the whole angel concept it’s still new to me and I was excited to see how it would play out with the vampires. I loved the idea of the dimensions where the angels and pureblood vampires come from I found it very fascinating and unique. Lailah was an exciting and captivating story it was hard to put down and I had to know what would happen next in her story. I loved the characters they are easy to connect with and you can’t help falling for either leading guy. I enjoyed the whole story the author did a beautiful job taking the vampire/angel concept and weaving a new story. I can’t wait for the next book to see what will happen with Lailah.

If the book was going to be made into a movie I think this trio would fit the rolls perfectly. Yes I admit I've been watching way to many kid shows recently. My four year old is kind of obsessed with some older shows too.
For Lailah I see Peyton List (from Jessie) I know she's a little young but I think by the time the movie rolled around she would be perfect.
For Jonah I see Jake Abel - (Percy Jackson) Granted he played a son of a God who went a little bad but this might be the perfect roll bad boy Vampire.
Last but no less important for Gabriel I chose Zac Efron - What can I say I just see him fitting the role as an angel so well. Plus we just watched Neighbors I could see him being the good guy.

I was born and raised only minutes away from the chocolately scent of Cadbury World in Birmingham, England. So it will probably come as no surprise that when I'm not dreaming in Vampires & Angels, I dream in chocolate! For the past ten years I have lived in West London with my hubby and two dogs, Alfie - the Pug & Goose - the Chihuahua.
LAILAH is my debut novel, and first launched in serial form to wattpad, a readers & writers community. Within just 6months, LAILAH had over a million reads and thousands of comments and votes.
Since then, The Styclar Saga has gone on to pick up a traditional deal with Feiwel & Friends, and LAILAH, the first book in the series is due for release on October 7th 2014.
