Synopsis

Micah hates her ability to “see” things when she touches people. She’s terrified of relationships, holds on to guilt over the death of her classmate, Lacey, and has no idea what to do with a vision from Landon, a boy from her school. She feels him falling for her, but Micah doesn’t do friends, much less relationships.

Enter a spooky history project about a tragedy from three hundred years ago, and voodoo dolls that Micah somehow feels has to do with her gift. Suddenly she’s sure the shadows in the woods are following her every move—without Landon’s relaxed attitude about what’s happening in her life, Micah would be sure she’s going crazy.

With no ideas on timing or specifics, the visions of both herself and the people she cares about are turning dark—and it appears the shadows around her house do move on their own. But as Micah and Landon try to prevent Micah’s visions of the future, the shadows close in, and they’re now afraid they've become the cause…

Micah's story is the first of three girls, with unique talents, who are part of a 300 year old tragedy that follows them in the shadows.

Review

I received Insight as part of the tour hosted by YA Bound Book Tours in return for an honest review.  Micah isn't your typical teenage girl who’s about to graduate from high school. She’s gifted with the ability to see bits and pieces from their lives as well as how they feel when she touches people. Since she doesn't want to see visions so has in the past attempted to appear invisible, however when her mom moves them to a small town blending in won’t be so easy. It’s at school where she meets Landon the son of the senator who has girls hanging all over him. When she accidentally bumps into him she gains a vision of Landon falling in love with her but that’s not the only bump she’s gotten since starting school. She’s also sees the death of a classmate that continues to haunt her because she wonders if she could have saved her.

Micah has thought she was alone until she tells her dad about being able to see things by touching people. She learns that her father also has the gift to see things he explains to her about learning to how he met her mom, how he knew it was over before it was really over. Micah learns that her father is in love with plans to marry her but he’s seen something dark in her future. With Micah seeing the same scene when she touches his dad’s fiancĂ© she tries to help figure out what’s going to happen to her. With her help he’s able to figure it out to do what he can to avoid anything happening to her.

Micah returns home to her mom charged with the info that she may be able to change her visions to fix them before something bad happens. Upon returning from her dad’s she is visited by Landon who attempt to get to know her better, which is something in the past she would avoid. As their relationship progresses she develops enough trust in him to tell him her secret about how she can see bits and pieces when she touches people. At first he enjoys pushing her into people but after she touches him and sees something everything changes. As Micah attempts to change the future the shadows are looming will she be able to change the future or will she be too late.

Insight is a captivating story filled with intrigue romance and mystery. I love Micah she’s so down to earth, she’s trying to deal with her ability and not let it ruin her life. Then she meets Landon he’s the opposite of her and he changes her life forever. I love the relationship between Micah and Landon it’s sweet innocent young love he’s willing to do anything to protect her and what kind of girl doesn't want a guy like that. As a character Micah is very well written she’s one of those characters you just connect with so that when she’s happy your happy and same when she’s sad. I found the concept for Insight unique it’s the first book I've read with a character that feels and sees things by touching a person. It’s a fascinating story that keeps you on your toes cheering for Micah and Landon till the very end.  I really enjoyed Insight and look forward to reading the next books in the series.

through the deserted islands in The Bahamas. Two years ago, she got that wish when her parents retired on a sailboat.

She taught high school French when she was only a few years older than her students, and then taught middle school math with her degree in political science and French.
She spends grocery money on designer fabric, shoes, and books.

Jolene cannot express how many times she wished she could write a whole novel. And now she has. Several times. Life is good.
