Thyra Winther's seventeen, the Snow Queen, and immortal, but if she can't reassemble a shattered enchanted mirror by her eighteenth birthday she's doomed to spend eternity as a wraith. Armed with magic granted by a ruthless wizard, Thyra schemes to survive with her mind and body intact.
Unencumbered by kindness, she kidnaps local boy Kai Thorsen, whose mathematical skills rival her own. Two logical minds, Thyra calculates, are better than one. With time rapidly melting away she needs all the help she can steal. A cruel lie ensnares Kai in her plan, but three missing mirror shards and Kai's childhood friend, Gerda, present more formidable obstacles. Thyra's willing to do anything – venture into uncharted lands, outwit sorcerers, or battle enchanted beasts - to reconstruct the mirror, yet her most dangerous adversary lies within her breast.
Touched by the warmth of a wolf pup's devotion and the fire of a young man's desire, the thawing of Thyra's frozen heart could be her ultimate undoing.

JMK
Jackie Morse Kessler grew up in Brooklyn, NY, with a cranky cat and overflowing shelves filled with dolls and books. Now she’s in Upstate NY with another cranky cat, a loving husband, two sons, and overflowing shelves filled with dragons and books (except when her sons steal her dragons). She has a bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature, and yet she’s never read any Jane Austen (with or without zombies). She also has a master’s degree in media ecology. (The living study of technology and culture. Which is cool, but she still can’t figure out how to use Tweetdeck.)
Jackie spends a lot of time writing, reading, and getting distracted by bright and shiny new ideas. (She just came up with a new idea right now.) She has a weakness for chocolate and a tendency to let her cat take over her office chair.

W... W... W... Wednesdays & What Are You Reading Wednesdays

W... W... W... Wednesdays
W...W...W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Jenn at A Daily Rhythm. Be sure to link up to her so others can see what your reading.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions..
1.What are you currently reading?
2.What did you recently finish reading?
3.What do you think you'll read next?

Books
1.What are you currently reading? Witches & Werewolves by Bella Raven - Goodreads
2.What did you recently finish? Life After Falling by Alyssa Rose Ivy - Goodreads - Review to come
3.What do you think you'll read next? Silent Stalker by Richie Tankersley Cusick - Goodreads

What Are You Reading Wednesdays
Hosted by It's A Reading Thing
How it works
Grab the book your currently reading and answer the following questions.
1. What's the name of your current read?
2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share one complete sentence.

3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your

book? Why or why not?

1. Currently reading Witches & Werewolves by Bella Raven - Goodreads
2. I grab another pot, and make a second attempt at cooking dinner for Noah. He emerges from the hallway, his face quizzical, puzzled by the smoke. I’m sure he heard the gunshots. But, as usual, he doesn’t say a word. He strides to the kitchen, lifts onto his tip toes, peering at the scorched pot in the sink. Noah gives me a sarcastic, shameful glance, as if to say that even he could cook mac & cheese without screwing it up.
3.  I've just started but so far I like it. Love the cover.
How about you? How are you coming on your reading?

Wishlist Wednesday

Wishlist Wednesday
Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the list and onto our wonderful shelves.
Hosted by Pen to Paper

I'm in love with the cover and synopsis for this one. I'm super tempted to buy it.

My choice this week is:
The Exile by C.T. Adams
(Goodreads)

Synopsis
Brianna Hai runs an occult shop that sells useless trinkets to tourists—and real magic supplies to witches and warlocks. The magical painting that hangs in Brianna's apartment is the last portal between the fae and human worlds.

A shocking magical assault on her home reveals to Brianna that her father, High King Liu of the Fae, is under attack. With the help of her gargoyle, Pug, her friend David, and Angelo, a police detective who doesn't believe in magic, Brianna recovers what was stolen from her and becomes an unwilling potential heir to the throne.

A suspenseful urban fantasy with a hint of romance, The Exile is the first solo novel by C. T. Adams, who is half of USA Today bestselling author Cat Adams. Like the Cat Adams Blood Singer novels, The Exile is set in a world where magic is real and contains Adams's trademark blend of suspense, action, humor, and strongly emotional writing.

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating. In my case not so patiently waiting for the new releases, which I lack.

I actually enjoyed the first one it wasn't bad and I'm hoping more of my questions will be answered in the new installment.

My choice this week is....

Traveler by Arwen Elys Dayton
Expected publication - January 12th 2016
(Goodreads)

Synopsis
For readers of A Game of Thrones and Legend: Traveler, the sequel to Seeker.
Quin Kincaid is a Seeker. Her legacy is an honor, an ancient role passed down for generations. But what she learned on her Oath night changed her world forever.
Quin pledged her life to deception. Her legacy as a Seeker is not noble but savage. Her father, a killer. Her uncle, a liar. Her mother, a casualty. And the boy she once loved is out for vengeance, with her family in his sights.
Yet Quin is not alone. Shinobu, her oldest companion, might now be the only person she can trust. The only one who wants answers as desperately as she does.
But the deeper they dig into the past, the darker things become. There are long-vanished Seeker families, shadowy alliances, and something else: a sinister plan begun generations ago, with the power to destroy them all.

The past is close. And it will destroy them all.
What are you waiting on this week? I can't wait to see what you have this week!

Teaser

I AM SOMEWHERE in between the frozen pizza and the ice cream when reality kicks in. I can’t hold it back any longer. Tears stream down my cheek and my chest heaves with uncontrollable sobs. What a perfect place to have a meltdown—in the middle of the frozen food aisle. I lean back against the cold glass casing, sliding down to the floor. Covering my face with my hands, I try to stem the relentless tide of tears, wiping them away as fast as I can, but I’m no match. These tears have been brewing for months.
“Madison…?” A vaguely familiar voice calls out.
I brush away my tears and peer through strands of hair up at the voice with my puffy, red eyes.
 “Maddie, is that you?”
The voice belongs to a cute, perky young girl with wavy black hair. She’s gorgeous, with long, tanned legs, prominently displayed by a dangerously short skirt. Her outfit is meticulously coordinated—earrings, bracelet, handbag. Her style is impeccable.
“Jennifer?” I ask.
“Madison James, it is you,” she says, kneeling down to me. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I was looking for chocolate chip mint. They didn’t have it,  drama ensued,” I sniffle.

Jennifer chuckles, “Glad to see you’re still a smart-ass,” she says, helping me to my feet.

What's your teaser?

Book Blitz: Zia the Teenage Zombie and the Undead Diaries

ZIA, The Teenage Zombie & the Undead Diaries
Release date: September 20th 2015

Summary from Goodreads:
Zia would give anything to be a typical teenager... again. Heck, she’d settle for being a vampire or smelly werewolf, but a member of the walking dead? The lowliest of all the monsters? No way! Nothing is worse than being a skin-sloughing, limb-losing, maggot-housing, brain-craving undead girl. Nothing.

It wouldn’t be so bad if humans didn’t insist on “Living Impaireds” wearing bands to keep their insatiable appetites in check. And if LIs want to coexist with humans, then rules must be followed, no matter how ludicrous they might seem. Why do undead teenagers have to go to high school anyway?

Zia does her best to blend in and go unnoticed, but when a new group of LIs are bused in from another school and she finds herself part of a growing horde, all bets are off.

Besides, rules are meant to be broken—especially when an unbeating heart is pulled in two different directions.

About the Author
I hear voices. Tiny fictional people sit on my shoulders and whisper their stories in my ear. Instead of medicating myself, I decided to pick up a pen, write down everything those voices tell me, and turn it into a book. I’m not crazy. I’m an author.

For the most part, I write contemporary Young Adult novels. However, through a writing exercise that spiraled out of control, I found myself writing about zombies terrorizing the Wild Wild West—and loving it. My zombies don’t sparkle, and they definitely don’t cuddle. At least, I wouldn’t suggest it.

I live on the benches of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains with two lovely children, one teenager, and a very patient husband. I graduated from Utah State University with a B.A. degree in English, not because of my love for the written word, but because it was the only major that didn’t require math. I can’t spell, and grammar is my arch nemesis. But they gave me the degree, and there are no take backs.

As a child, I never sucked on a pacifier; I chewed on a pencil. I’ve been writing that long. It has only been the past few years that I’ve pursued it professionally, forged relationships with other like-minded individuals, and determined to make a career out of it.

Book Review: Whiteout

Title - Whiteout
Author - Nikki Jefford
Series - Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter #5
Genre - YA Fantasy Vampires
Published - October 27th 2015
Publisher - Nikki Jefford
Format - Kindle Review Copy

Synopsis
Life on the run is no winter picnic, especially when Aurora’s partner sees himself as the sheriff, not the outlaw.

It’s a cat and mouse game across the Last Frontier with agents and vampires out for revenge.

Aurora has never fought so hard to stay alive, even as each day takes her further away from Fane. Will they ever be reunited? Or is Aurora destined to remain in Alaska with Dante forever?

Review
I received Whiteout in return for an honest review from the author. Whiteout is the 5th installment in the Aurora Sky series taking off just after the end of the fourth book. Dante and Aurora are on the run hunted by Melcher as well as vampires both determined to capture the hunters. Now Dante and Aurora are working with Giselle to help her get Jared after what he did to her as well as Melcher. While they are hiding out in the wilderness Fane is trying to tracker her down knowing she’s on the run with Dante doesn’t help settle his nerves he has to find her because she’s not just a hunter but she’s the one for him.

Aurora has accepted that she’s been a vampire ever since the car accident she’s even craving blood but unlike her Dante is still determined to stay as human as he can gobbling up human food and hunting vampires. The trio needs to find the perfect place to ambush Melcher and Jared so they can end it at last, and may just have found the right place. Fane is also determined to do what it takes to get Aurora as well as his longtime companion Joss back even calling in his family. With the help of his family he’s gotten Joss free but will he be able to get to Aurora before it’s too late? Will Jared and Melcher fall for the trap walking into their hands?

I love Aurora she’s one of my favorite vampire hunters who just keeps getting better with each book. I’ve been torn between Dante and Fane each one has always had potential as a love interest for Aurora. While I’m not fan of love triangles I really didn’t mind this one so much maybe it’s because deep down I always knew it would be Fane no matter how much I wanted it to be Dante. I think Aurora is a great character she can hold her own against the vampires, and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty when it comes to taking out a vampire.

I’ve had this one on my wish list forever so when the chance came up to review it I had to know what would happen next to my favorite vampire hunter. The vampire concept in the series is unique we have the blood sucking killing vampires but we also have those who are just trying to live in the human world who don’t kill. Plus we have the vampire trained hunters who hunt down the vampires who are doing the killing working for the government. I really enjoy the characters in the series even the ones I don’t want to like have actually grown on me like Gisselle but Aurora is still the best. I have actually been able to connect with most of the characters. I admit I did miss Noel and Valerie from the prior books they have found a place in my heart as two of my favorite character next to Aurora. Whiteout is a fast paced novel loaded with action, suspense and a little romance it’s one of those books that is hard to put down. The author has created an intricate story that is beautifully written that captures the heart as well as the imagination. I can’t wait for the next book because I just have to know what’s going to happen with Aurora and Fane. I loved every moment of Whiteout it's another brilliant installment in the Aurora Sky series.
