The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Another week in quarantine but we've started opening up more into phases so that's progress. I'm so ready for school to be out for the summer as my daughter isn't loving home school and Ii don't enjoy it either. The weather continues to be bipolar some days are hot others are wet and rainy. Sadly it looks like we are headed into the hot summer as we will be triple digits most of this week. At least staying inside won't feel so much forced this week.

Read the last week
Sadly not a lot of reading but when my days are spent schooling and entertaining a very bored 10-year old I guess it's expected. I've been trying to get it in when I can but haven't had a lot of free time. I wish she loved to read but she's not a reader yet.

  1. Sounds tough! Isn't it possible to have some friends over for your daughter to play with? Or for her to see some friends somehow?

  2. Would she like audiobooks where the story is read to her? I was an avid reader by like 7. I read the most books at the library that summer - they had a contest. Of course, they were smaller books as I was only finishing 1st grade. But the first half of the year I spent in the hospital at Mayo Clinic so I think it was something I could read and didn't have to repeat the grade. Anyway, I get tons of audios digitally from the library and there's the audiobook sync program for teens. Some of those might be too old for her. But you could pick the choices based on her interests.

I love rhubarb. I don't think it grows well here in NC. But it is growing where you are and it's hot. We've only been in the 80s now with 5 days a week of rain, the last 2 weeks. Before that, it was perfect weather 60-70 with only one day a week with rain for more than 2 months.

    Happy summer vacation! Happy reading!
