Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon
Check it out (Here)

The time has come to start reading!!!!
Goal is to read as many as I can reviews I can do tomorrow.
I'll keep this post updated so I can do it while I'm on the road if need be. I don't plan to read all 24 but I do plan to read most of the day.

Reading/read list
1. The Viking's Curse by Xandra James - Done
2. Dream Catcher by M.C. Cerny - Currently reading
3.
4.
May just have to accept the fact that this isn't going to happen.
We have plans tonight but I should have enough time to finish one more.
Opening Meme
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I'm in Northern California
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? This is hard because I've remade the list several times over the last day.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? I'm going to grab a muffin this am when I run to the store for stuff tonight. I can't wait to get a big yummy muffin to go with my coffee.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I'm an instagram addict @ReadingDiaries I love taking pictures of books, coffee, crafts and just about everything else.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? I didn't plan as well last year this time around my house knows the plan and my husband is home to help out.

Mini Challenges

Challenge - Our Bookish Childhoods

1. My mother used to take my sister and I to the public library on the weekends. We would all load up on books for the week. Of course at even a young age I was trying to pick books from the adult section. My parents started my reading addiction at a very young age and it hasn't changed since. I'm still a book hoarder.

2. My grandparents used to take my sister and I up to the cabin a lot during the summer.  They had a very old classic copy of Alice in Wonderland that my grandmother would read to us at night. One of my favorite books even now. I wish I still had that copy.

3. My mother and I shared a love of horses she was always finding horse books for me to love as much as she did. We both loved The Black Stallion Series by Walter Farley. I actually plan to re-read them all since it's been ages. My mom used to read Dick Francis's horse race mysteries while I was reading my Black Stallion Novels.

4. Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton is one of the first adult books my dad and I read together. We read both books in the duo and than saw the movies. It still is one of my favorite memories. We even went on to read the Dragon Riders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey.

5. For Xmas one year I got a large gift card to a little bookstore down the street. It was amazing!!!! I was always a read older than my age kind of girl. One of the two owners suggested to Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K Hamilton to my 14 year old self. I actually read every single book in the series to current in one weekend. Thus began my love of Urban Fantasy even though I'm a little disappointed by the path Anita Blake has taken.
