Synopsis
The fence around the compound isn't there just to keep people out. It's to keep people in.

My sister deserves to have the wedding of her dreams, not an arranged marriage to some random werewolf. But our Alpha father is trying to force her into marrying someone she doesn't love, someone she doesn't even know.

The worst part? She's agreeing to do it so I won't have to.

I have to figure a way to get her out of this. A way that won't end up getting myself killed in the end.

It isn't just werewolves I need to worry about...

Dodging danger isn't the easiest thing to do lately, after having a run-in with a new kind of evil - one that I never knew even existed until I met Jax.

And my friends?

It's hard to say which ones I can trust.

“What do you mean our dad is forcing you to get married?” My question came out louder than I’d meant for it to, my voice echoing all around us.

An hour later, we were sitting at the long dining room table with Jax’s entire family. I was seated between Jax and Mila, with Bash sitting across from me, Ace and Elias diagonal to me, and Hudson and Caleb were seated at each end of the table. I wasn’t used to eating with so many people. Usually, it was just Mom, Zoe, me, and sometimes Blair.

What teasers do you have this week?

Book Blogger Hop

This week's Question:
Do you read hardcovers with the dust jacket on or off? Why or why not?
Answer:

I love to read hardcover's but I always take the dust jacket off. I'm scared in my house something will happen to it. However, recently my husband took one off to read and it ended up smashed. Thankfully my husband doesn't read very much and when he does it's on his tablet.
What about you?

  1. Sounds like you're reading an intense book!

I go back and forth with taking hardcover dust jackets off; it's a rather large book and is slipping and sliding, I take it off, but if it's fairly stable, I don't mind it. Happy reading!

    1. Thank!! It's a great werewolf series.

I used to when I was younger leave them on but I had one get destroyed accidentally and since that day it's always take them off. Have a great week reading. =D

  2. I always take the dust jacket off too though I have had a few get torn up which makes me sad. Love the teasers! The beginning has me curious as just to what's going on as the speaker's reaction makes it sound like forced marriage isn't really a thing.

    1. I was super sad when I had my first cover damaged. I actually replaced the book just so I wouldn't have to be sad about the cover.
It's an exciting werewolf series with a controlling father. I like it.
Have a great week and happy reading =D

  3. I take the dust jacket off too.

I love how pretty they are and don't want them to get damaged.

    1. That's exactly why I take them off. I always worry that something will happen.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week and happy reading.

  4. I also take the dust jacket off. I don't want to wrinkle it and so I keep it on the shelf where the book came from. This sounds like an interesting story with a huge number of characters. I like books with werewolves. This week I am spotlighting Close to the Edge by Dawn Ryder. Happy reading!

    1. That's exactly where I keep mine. Right on the shelf so they are safe.
It does have a large number of characters but it works. Yay another werewolf fan. I haven't heard of dawn Ryder before. I'll have to stop by. Thanks for sharing!!! Have a great week and happy reading.

  5. I would really hate it if one of my dust jackets got smashed! But if I have the ability to, I take them off anyway. I trust myself to not damage the dust jacket while its off and now that you mention your husband smashing yours I'm not so sure of myself anymore, haha!

    1. I wish I had the skills to leave them on. Between the husband, dogs and kids I keep them safe on a shelf in the bedroom away from the dogs and kids. He's the only one I have to worry about.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm headed to check yours out. Have a great week and happy reading.

  7. I am the same! I have to take them off so they don't get damaged, but I also have to make sure my pup can't get his little paws on it because I have made a mistake of putting it where he could step all over it.

  9. That is a legitimate problem. Take it off, yes. But then what happens to it? Almost safer to leave it on sometimes lol. But I'm not a hardcover dust jacket fan anyway. I'm addicted to my Kindle and love paperbacks, too :)

    1. Recently I haven't been reading as many as I used to. I do love my kindle my go to recently. Plus all the cheap $.99 books it's hard to pass up. I haven't read a paperback this year yet. Might need to change that.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week and happy reading.

  10. Sounds like something my husband would do too! Oops.
I generally leave them on when I read hardbacks.

    1. My husband has gotten better over the years but every now and than one meets it's death. Plus I have the worry of sticky kid fingers, and destructive dogs.

  11. You've got me wanting to read Starcrossed with those teasers! It sounds like something I would like.

I tend to take off the dust covers of my hardbacks too. They are safer that way as I tend to damage them if they remain on the book. :-(

I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. I highly suggest the series but be sure to start with Wolfbound the first in the series. It's a fun hard to put down series.

I think it's always safer to take them off. I know when i've left them on they had little bends and some minor damage aside from the one the dog ate.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week and happy reading.

I'm a dust-jacket off kinda girl, but I don't have much patience with hardcovers in general.

    1. I highly recommend the series. The authors are great but be sure to start with the first.

I've noticed recently I haven't been reading nearly as many hardcovers this year. I find my kindle is my go to recently.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  14. Ooh, I'd be cranky if my cover got smashed. I keep them in very safe spaces when they are off the book.

  15. Starcrossed sounds good. I'm the opposite about dust jackets-I'm scared I will lose or damage them if I take them off, so I keep them on. I don't have many hardcovers, though.

    1. Starcrossed was amazing. I need to write my review.
You seem to be in the minority this week. I didn't even think about losing them when I take them off. That's a good point because that can always happen.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great week and happy reading.
