Kayla Hayward never expected to end up in Winter Valley for good, but when she returns for her fifth reunion it’s easy to stay and avoid the aftermath of a bad relationship. Landing a teaching job alongside her lifelong secret crush makes it even more attractive. While the popular girls didn’t date guys like Ergan Wakefield in high school, there’s nothing stopping Kayla from giving it a shot now. Except her past.

Ergan Wakefield knows Kayla Hayward is his true mate, and he thought he’d lost her forever when she left for Boston. When she lands back in Winter Valley, he jumps on the opportunity to realize their destiny. But fate has other ideas, and Ergan must find a way to fight the evil that threatens to ruin his chance at happiness.

Review
Kayla decided to stay in town after graduation getting a job at her old High School and even coaching the girls Varsity Soccer team. She’s staying at her parent's vacation house on the lake and things should be perfect but of course when a paddle boarding accident causes her to ask for help from her grouchy neighbor and her crush to help with her girls soccer. It’s a good thing that Ergan is coaching the boy's team. While Kayla may think she can take care of herself when her ex-shows up in town things spiral out of control quickly revealing the secret she suspected about the locals.

I like Kayla she’s a sweetheart like all the girls in the Winter Valley Wolves which I’ve come to love. She’s had some struggles in the past but now that she’s at the lake house she’s going to have her chance to start over with the handsome Ergan. I like that we had a little chance to see some of Warren I have a feeling that he will be getting his own happy ever after before the series is over.

I’ve been working my way through the Winter Valley Wolves series. Each novel is the series is a fast-paced whirlwind romance that captures the heart as well as the imagination. The author has created this perfect little lake community to allow her werewolves to live. She’s also put her own unique spin on the werewolves, like how they shift and how they form true mate relationships which I find fascinating. I’ve enjoyed every installment in the series but the Wakefield boys might just be my favorite so far. I can’t wait to dive right into the next one and I know when I finish they will be a series I come back to read over and over.
